Trump's Second Term

Judge throws out Trump's $15 billion lawsuit against New York Times

A federal judge threw out President Donald Trump's $15 billion libel and defamation lawsuit against the New York Times by ruling that it didn't provide a succinct complaint for the court to consider.

U.S. District Judge Steven Merryday in Florida rejected the complaint but gave Trump 28 days to file another version of the lawsuit. Trump had accused the paper of defaming him with malicious accusations, but the lawsuit lacked "any legitimate legal claims."

"As every lawyer knows (or is presumed to know), a complaint is not a public forum for vituperation and invective − not a protected platform to rage against an adversary," wrote Merryday, who was appointed by former President George H.W. Bush. "A complaint is not a megaphone for public relations or a podium for a passionate oration at a political rally or the functional equivalent of the Hyde Park Speakers’ Corner."

I read a few random pages of the lawsuit and even I could tell it was patently ridiculous.

It made me wonder if, by chance, this was the product of one of the law firms that Trump cowed into offering him pro bono work. If so, this over-the-top nonsense could be a form of malicious compliance.

Was the gist: "Waaaaah, everyone is making fun of me...make them stop,"?

Trump: "Nobody's done a better done than I've done on world peace. Nobody has settled so many wars as I haven."

He's right, again! Nobody has done s better done than he's done. Not that I know of, at least. See? Trump was right!

And if he starts a war with Venezuela, and a brand new one with Afghanistan, he can done them too, and then he will have done ever betterer! This is how to bring about world peace, and if you start a war with US cities as well, you can done them, and you will reduce crime with 1500%! More peace done! The most peace ever done in the history of done peace!

No, Donnie. It is not illegal. It's all there in the Constitution. Yep, that thing you swore an oath to uphold when you were inaugurated. Remember that? No? Well, you did. No, really, you DID! You can't remember? It was only 8 months ago... You still can't? Oh dear, well that's a pity because everyone else does. Listen, can you tell me your wife's name? Man, woman, camera, TV... O...K...

Look, I really think that now you should go back to eating your KFC bucket, buddy, and leave the presidenting to your aides. OK? Or have another nap. Either is good! Off you toddle!
The scariest part is leaving the "Presidenting" to his aides. Miller, Kash? ooooooffffff

Donald is immune to criticism apparently

Karl: You've said you restored free speech in America. Is that free speech including for people who are harshly critical of you?

Trump: I've become immune to it… That's why your network paid me $16 million.. That's why CBS paid me a lot of money too. And that's why I sued The New York Times

Karl: The judge threw it out

Trump: I’m winning…. And for you to stand there and act so innocent and ask me a question like that… The reason I won that lawsuit is you were proven to be dishonest. You’re not a wonderful person. You’re a terrible reporter. You know it and I know it.

Trump shows off the Oval Office to his donors:

"That's all 24-karat gold. That's why it just beams... I just felt it was important for this office to take on a look that was appropriate. It's more representative of what it should be."

He's really working hard to lower grocery prices.

Big news on Autism next week!

Trump: "I think we're gonna have something very very big coming up soon on autism. Autism is totally out of control ... we're gonna have a news conference early next week on autism."

"It was just a film!" yelled Hoffman, as he was bundled into the van by armed agents and men in white coats.

Is that what the contractors told him what it was? I think his also decorated with cheap tack that his contractors insisted was gold and charged him those prizes for gilded plastic tack.

Trump is the democratically elected leader of a country which has long been the UK's ally. There's nothing the UK could have legitimately done to prevent that, and nothing it can legitimately do to change it. All other countries can do is cope with the situation as best they can, and hope the US electorate eventually come to their senses. Outrageous flattery seems to be the most effective way of ensuring he does the least possible amount of damage to our country. There's nothing we can do about the damage he is doing to yours.
This.

Don't take your shame and frustration at your leader out on his victims.

Hmm I guess you and I haven’t crossed paths often enough for you to divine I’m not an USAian, in fact I even possess an UK passport.

Oh, and to get in on the tie thing? I always tied a bow tie. None of that clip on crap during the festive/gala season in London.

You’re a Brit with no idea of class?

Oh well, a lesson for you. Anything less than a half Windsor on a gentleman’s neck is uncouth at the very least, and an invitation to a fist fight if the public school half Windsor wearer is rightfully aggrieved……. 😊

More seriously, I learnt the school tie method, but when starting work, noticed that other, more upwardly mobile males, had neater ties. I then learnt the half Windsor.

Tip for tie wearers. The full Windsor is unnecessary and a certain sign the wearer is a wanker.

Yeah school knot until I went to work when one of the sales people taught me a proper knot (probably a Half Windsor) which I ended up teaching to my boss when I took a job in sales myself a few years back.
