Your brother does a lot of heavy lifting for you.. My brother told me . . .
...secular statist?? Do you mean someone who is not an intolerant ignorant religious fanatic like the Taliban? There was another individual like Charlie who was around for 30 years or so and did threaten an institution. My brother told me about this Rush fellow on the radio and that I should give him a listen. I later found out his last name was Limbaugh, but never listened.
My brother told me that liberals tried to compete with Limbaugh and failed. Rush laughed at the attempt and said that they did not understand that he was first and foremost an entertainer and secondarily a political and social commentator.
Someone could have done exactly what Charlie Kirk was doing. A secular statist could have set up a tent at a university and expounded upon the wonders of centralized government. But like me 55 years ago, those college kids were already subjected to those teachings in their economics and political science courses. So, like the attempt to compete on the radio, this most likely would have failed.
yeah rush limbaugh was also kind of a piece of ◊◊◊◊
He's not heavy, he's my brotherYour brother does a lot of heavy lifting for you.
He's not heavy, he's my brother![]()
Good, that's something at least.Bondi walked that statement back within hours following criticism from conservatives. She said that action will be taken when "hate speech crosses the line into threats of violence."
Yay for escalating political division and sowing hatred between people, it's just the very bestest! It's going to be outstanding because the right is going to lose. their. ◊◊◊◊. when the bulk of the left gives no ◊◊◊◊◊ at all about Charlie. It's going to amp up a bunch of people. I'm so looking forward to it.
Where did I say it was okay? I've not mentioned Trump in this thread at all. I'm just amazed at the people who profess to be skeptics expressing zero skepticism about something that is plainly ridiculous because it happens to suit their worldview (that Robinson is a MAGA and opposed Kirk from the Right).I see, so when the fat clown double's down on his falsehoods, that's ok? Got it.
IMO Bondi only seemed less bad was because all we knew about her (me anyway) was she took a bribe to let Trump off of some legal case she was overseeing.IIRC, Bondi was seen as one of the least bad of his picks when she was named. I'd say that was wrong but they are all so bad. Still, saying you're going to start prosecuting folks for speech, seems impeachable to me, remarkably dumb. The FCC threatening licenses is straight of the Chavez playbook. Trump and MAGA always gets worse.
Somebody should have told Kimmel that; he might still have a job.I thought the show was meant to be light entertainment not a news programme.
FTFY."Yay for escalating political division and sowing hatred between people, it's just the very bestest! -Better than ANYTHING any of those radical lefties like Barrack Hussein accomplished!" -Donald Trump
phttt...tell that to the ones who lost their jobs simply for saying stuff on social media or to their coworkers.Somebody should have told Kimmel that; he might still have a job.

Just today, Trump tweeted that Ilhan Omar was scum. Escalate much?FTFY.
I suppose it's just barely possible that "I had enough of his hatred. Some hate can’t be negotiated out." refers to Kirk's hate directed against Fuentes' fanboys, but that seems like a really slim branch to be crawling out on, given how common that sentiment is on lefty Bluesky.I'm just amazed at the people who profess to be skeptics expressing zero skepticism about something that is plainly ridiculous because it happens to suit their worldview (that Robinson is a MAGA and opposed Kirk from the Right).

I think one of the most ◊◊◊◊◊◊ up things about this scenario is that there is an assumption that because (apparently) Robinson disagreed with Kirk about his (presumed) relationship with a transexual, that he must be a full on radical leftist. Never mind that there are a million other issues that could portray him as either left or right leaning politically, it all comes down to his sexual inclinations. I don't think it is farfetched that Kirk's outspoken rhetoric on trans and LBGTQ people was a possible source of Robinson's view that he espoused "hatred" So does that mean he had left wing ideology? One issue? That is obviously the assumption being made by the right here. But folks like Peter Thiel or Caitlyn Jenner might disagree that they are radical leftists, no? Can any other issue be demonstrated that makes Robinson a "leftist"? Was he pro gun control? Did he fight for women's rights? Did he go around talking about climate change? Did he denounce police racial profiling? I'm waiting for all that evidence...I suppose it's just barely possible that "I had enough of his hatred. Some hate can’t be negotiated out." refers to Kirk's hate directed against Fuentes' fanboys, but that seems like a really slim branch to be crawling out on, given how common that sentiment is on lefty Bluesky.
Also the bullet memes were pretty antifash.

New bill filed in Oklahoma that says every public university in the state must have a "Charlie Kirk Memorial Plaza" with a statue of Kirk and his family.
A victory for free speech, however despised the speaker.
"... MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them."
It was idiotic when he said it. There's still a lot of denial going on around here, but everything we've heard indicates the assassin was not MAGA. Kimmel was spreading disinformation, and by accounts was going to double down, which moves it into deliberate falsehood.
