I think you need to google the difference between what's satire and what's reality in a post that, yes, was obviously satire, which is why we focussed on the one thing that was amiss in this particular piece of satire.

He played hard on the complete lack of research they did.
Moralizing when your bible is held to a bat by barbed wire is one thing, but he usually kept it to the authority a bible carried for himself.
I agreed with a select few views he held on family issues but couldn't agree to his why a lot. Most things he was just beating a Christian right's drum that would open a door to bigger and uglier issues in the current climate in the US.

But every believer is the ultimate authority on what the bible says! Just spend some quality time talking with each one.
After about ten believers you're going to have fifteen distinctly different versions of that "truth".

Basing any truth on a base of rotten two millenia old jello is suspect going in. Yet billions of idiots do it.

That was what I didn't get. As far as I could tell, he was held up as some sort of anti-intellectual intellectual, but was more former than latter. His schtick was to debate, but not all that honestly, and employed a lot of bald assertions hoping to not get called on them.

Utah's Governor, in an interview with NBC News this morning:
"The roommate that we originally talked about, we can confirm that roommate is a boyfriend who is transitioning from male to female..." (Goes on to note that the roommate has been cooperative).

Indeed, that was back when Gov. Cox was still trying to "other" the shooter instead of admitting he was "one of us." All that sounds pretty performative, especially when you understand that Robinson was identified and apprehended Thursday night by local authorities, but they all had to wait to announce it until Kash Patel could get there to take credit for it.

Yeah, he "must" have been radicalized because all the good conservative, Mormon people who live in Utah are nice people and can't possibly be radicalized except by their trans live-in lovers and those woke radical state colleges. (cough, Ammon Bundy, cough)
