Merged Charlie Kirk shot at Utah Valley University event. / Charlie Kirk Shot And Killed

That's what I'm inclined to think until we have more evidence. Engraving doesn't just put pits into the metal. It raises the metal surrounding the engraving, and this can be felt with the finger. I wager someone that experienced with firearms would realize that might cause the rifle to jam.
I was wondering about that. Except I was thinking whether engraving would compromise the strength of the casing (and whether that is actually an important consideration)

“The evil-doers for my husband’s assassination have no idea what they have done..."

I can sympathize to a certain extent with a widow's emotional response, but, yeah- that "they" is doing a lot of heavy lifting there. I guess it's only natural for someone who thinks her husband spoke for a movement to be unable to accept that he could have been killed by anything less than an entire opposing movement, but in the end, it was just a guy with a gun and a right to it who made Kirk a cost that Kirk himself said was an acceptable one to keep that unadulterated right. She'd do better to honor his memory by honestly and openly accepting the concrete cost than by trying to fix a blame on some shapeless "they."

The Groyper connection is just so desperate. There's no evidence those are their memes. It looks to be general internet culture slop.

This hasn’t been concocted out of thin air. The evidence exists. It’s just circumstantial.

And furthermore, it’s a lot more solid than any evidence that ties Robinson to the left, which the right has been and continues to actively lie about.

they stopped declaring war on the dems for a reason

Yes, I think the fact that the right did such a hard turn on this after finding out the shooter’s identity is one of the more compelling things that lends credence to the “groyper” theory.

On the other hand, “groyper” connection or not, Robinson is very demographically inconvenient for the right’s preferred narrative.

According to the NY Post and others, he was living with a trans roommate...
Not that I trust the NY Post, but I'm done speculating...

Assuming this is true (big grain of salt), the fundamental error that keeps popping up from the right is assuming that if you don’t hate trans people or worship Charlie Kirk, you must be on the left.

I know roughly how big they are. Now try inscribing on them, clearly, the text supposedly found on them. Even going round them, there's about as much writing area as a business card.
Well, this is what was written according to the probable cause statement...

The spent brass casing
- "Notices Buldge OWO what's this?"

The three unfired bullet casings
- "hey fascist! CATCH!" followed by an up arrow, a right arrow and three down arrow symbols.
- "O Bella ciao, Bella ciao, Bella ciao, Ciao, ciao!"
- "If you read This, you are GAY Lmao."

These will all easily fit on 30-06 casings.
A Sharpie would work better, not inscribing.
Yup, especially if it's a Fine Point style

I’m dating myself, but give me my old Rapidographs and some spirit-based ink and I’m pretty sure I could write the whole preamble to the Constitution on a .30-06 casing. I had a Springfield .30-06 growing up in the Midwest. I inherited it from my grandfather. But I sold it decades ago.

The casing doesn’t contain the pressure. That’s the breech’s job. The casing’s job is to expand tightly against the breech walls and seal the breech so that the full force of the charge is directed forward against the rear of the cartridge and none leaks around the back.

Brass is soft, so the incidental embossing that would occur would be squashed against the breech and flattened. So my concern over jamming is maybe answered by that. Any jamming would then be more probable in the spring action that pushes the new cartridge into place from the magazine.

"Roommate" and "Partner" seem like very different claims to me...
It also fits with this that someone in a group chat told us

For example, Groypers use "fascist" in an almost entirely different framing. All but disconnecting the meaning from words. Means they can do "notice bulges" memes while also sharing a lot of trans porn. They might hate trans, they might blame x or y for trans, but what they really hate are the Conservatives who pretend to hate trans but consume content without the sense of irony that they would. They'd rather people be authentic (even if that authentic is contradictory) than pretend to be a "good guy", coopting their positions only to then jump into bed with all the things that they claim to hate (i.e. big government, controlling people and so on).

Speaking as an ex RN Armourer, I don't think a bit of engraving on the side of a case would cause any feed or jam problems as long as it was wasn't bent out of shape.
