Merged Charlie Kirk shot at Utah Valley University event. / Charlie Kirk Shot And Killed

What we do know for sure is that his brain was absolutely cooked by internet meme culture, but the degree to which that ties into politics seems less certain.
I mentioned above (or elsewhere, or maybe just in my mind) that if you want to make a living from online punditry, you have to stand out in the crowd. For some that means being more shrill or more radical than everyone else. You can be one of the more or less reasonable dozens who say, "Abortion policy should be left up to the states," or you can be the one guy who says, "Any doctor who performs an abortion should be given the death penalty." When you're paid by the eyeball, outrage rings the cash register no differently than admiration, but probably more often.

But one side effect of cultivating an online following is that you can't control what those fans do. This is especially acute when you've amplified the rhetoric in order to stand out. The fanatic loner suddenly sees someone giving air to his sentiment. The pundit can try to warn his followers against violence or excess, but the fanatic just appends a tacit "wink-wink-nudge-nudge" to those warnings. The pundit can condemn violence carried out by his followers, but in like manner the fanatic just writes it off as the formulaic disclaimer the pundit has to say for public consumption. The pundit can't do anything about the mental health or anger issues of his followers. If he casts a broad net, he's going to get at a few unstable people.

I know roughly how big they are. Now try inscribing on them, clearly, the text supposedly found on them. Even going round them, there's about as much writing area as a business card.
A Sharpie would work better, not inscribing.
What do you want to bet that's exactly what was used.

That's what I'm inclined to think until we have more evidence. Engraving doesn't just put pits into the metal. It raises the metal surrounding the engraving, and this can be felt with the finger. I wager someone that experienced with firearms would realize that might cause the rifle to jam.

A searchable database of over 20,000 individuals celebrating Charlie Kirk's murder will soon be available on our website.
It will be searchable by general location, employer, and industry type. Political violence can never be the answer.

Unless he had a Lee Enfiled, they will digest just about anything and still extract.

I suppose enough near-microscopic burrs standing proud from the
surface of a cartridge case might cause a refusal to chamber. But after
firing (if you jumped on the bolt handle and finally got the round chambered) I think they'd
all be flat and smooth.

Difficulties arise when the chamber gets pitted or scored and the case fire-forms into the
cavities. But before that happens, my rifle will be reported Lost Through Enemy Action.
If it's peacetime, I'll have an earnest talk with the regimental armorer. Be damned if the gunsmith's
little boy will pay for a guvmint fuggup.

Umm, they caught the murderer.

Also too, you probably shouldn't add more unemployment to your president's absymal numbers.

Well, maybe for homelessness.

Is this guy wrong?

The chair of the Johnson County Board of Supervisors is saying no to Gov. Kim Reynolds' order that flags on public grounds be lowered to half-staff in honor of assassinated conservative figure Charlie Kirk.

Jon Green posted on social media that by his “personal authority as Chairman of the Johnson County Board of Supervisors," the county, home of Iowa City and the University of Iowa, will defy the governor’s order.

While condemning Kirk’s killing, Green, a Democrat, wrote that he will "not grant Johnson County honors to a man who made it his life’s mission to denigrate so many of the constituents I have sworn an oath to protect, and who did so much to harm not only to the marginalized, but also to degrade the fabric of our body politic.

I think he's ◊◊◊◊◊◊ politically.

The Groyper connection is just so desperate. There's no evidence those are their memes. It looks to be general internet culture slop.
