Merged Charlie Kirk shot at Utah Valley University event. / Charlie Kirk Shot And Killed

It was 'unfortunately worth it', according to himself. He showed the wind and reaped the whirlwind. I wish he hadn't been shot, but I also won't shed a tear for him. One less hateful MAGAt in the world.

Curiously it doesn't feel as if the total amount of hate has reduced.

It's a very convenient distraction from Epstein
By that I mean that Trump is cynically using it. Which he tries to do with everything.

There are enough independent people for a conspiracy to be very unlikely.

Someone seeking notoriety, or with some paranoia, someone with a personal grievance against him. Someone with a political grievance against him..

Someone wanting a "burning of the Reichstag" moment and deciding he'd make a good martyr. But I think that's far less likely.

FBI says the suspect is not involved but they are going to keep him anyway.
I suppose they have to seem like they are busy.

Mason: We did have a suspect in custody but he was released after we identified that he was not an accurate person of interest. However, he has been booked into the county jail for obstruction of justice.
"Obstruction of justice" = resisting arrest for something he didn't do?

I am betting it has already happened on a couple of websites.
And I would make a bet a couple people here will spout this theory.
My own objection is that I doubt that Trump and his people are smart enough to pull off
somethng like that.
Off topic - my phone auto corrects "something" to "somethng" and it pisses me off. Glad to see I'm not the only one :)

I'm curious to know the circumstances.

(Pure speculation ahoy) Clearly if anyone tried to hinder or misdirect the cops in hot pursuit of a murderer, that would be a dick move which they fully deserved getting arrested for. On the other hand if this person was unaware of what was going on and got challenged by what they took to be ICE cosplay-cops then lack of cooperation is hardly something to be surprised about these days, and is indeed the very reason some PDs have made a point of saying they're not cooperating with ICE raids to avoid driving any more of a wedge between them and the public.

These people really think that anyone that didn't vote for Trump is a Democrat, right? Simple minded morons. I haven't been registered anything since my mid 20s.

Anyone who doesn't regularly make obeisance, by declaring the most toe-curling, sickening flattery to the great orange turd, is basically an accomplice in this; literally a murderer in this joint endeavour. They're going to need to execute, like, 200 million people.

The Boris quotes are interesting. I didn't pay much attention to
him back in auld lang syne.

Maybe the obstruction was being innocent after being arrested? They then compounded the crime by still being innocent after an announcement had been made about their arrest.

I didn't think Luigi was left wing. I thought he leaned conservative but mostly wasn't political at all, until United Health Care screwed him over specifically. It was personal.

For Kirk we still don't know who did it. It would make sense if it were some left-wing extremist, I mean they've gotta be hiding somewhere, Utah is as good a place as any, but it could just as easily be someone who lost family in a school shooting and blamed Kirk for it.

Just because the victims are hard right grifting douchebags who more than earned a bullet from the left, and everyone's so fundamentally aware of that that no one, literally no one so far in all I've read on this topic has wondered why someone might want Kirk dead, doesn't mean the left provided that bullet.

Big Balls in DC didn't get the ◊◊◊◊ beaten out of him by a child because he was Big Balls and the child was a left-wing extremist, he got the ◊◊◊◊ beaten out of him by a child because he propositioned that child's younger sister, and that he did because he was Big Balls.

These jackholes spend their lives making enemies and burning strangers. They provide a karma-rich environment. It's who they are.

And let’s remember: It was a right winger who took a shot at Trump. It’s why they don’t talk about it anymore.

Not every violent lunatic is necessarily a Republican, but it is certainly a demographic they have courted and cultivated.

It’s darkly humorous to watch MAGA turn this into the crime of the century while simultaneously proving to be inept at catching the perpetrator.

Hard to believe that after the political purges and allocating resources to hassle homeless people in D.C. they would struggle to solve an actual crime.

In one of the streaming pieces of coverage I saw someone interviewing a witness. That person that they heard a shot, Kirk was hustled off, and almost immediately an older guy went to the police and said he was the shooter. But the witness also added the guy didn't seem to have any gun, and (at least in the witness's opinion) wasn't in the right spot to have made the shot. I think the witness then went on to state that this meant that it was a group of people working together, so you have take all that with a pile of salt.

However, at the press conference with the governor and the FBI (?) guy, they said they had initially taken someone into custody and I thought he said something about it being an older guy. So if all that is true, it's possible that someone who had nothing to do with it turned himself in for whatever reason, and when the cops found out about it they hit him with the obstructing justice charge just for wasting their time.

And how I'd love to ask Krash Patel, "Can you find your ass with both hands?"
Publicly, mind, using a bullhorn and with my best profile toward the cameras.

Hey, a fella can dream, can't he? Let's hear your Great Moment in Life fantasy.
