Merged Charlie Kirk shot at Utah Valley University event. / Charlie Kirk Shot And Killed

Lots of folks claiming he's dead, nothing confirmed though. He's from my neck of the woods and dropped out from a nearby college. I heard about him a long time ago, and pretty much forgot about him until 2016.

At this point we don't know who shot him or why. But as noted just above, it does seem pretty easy to spin everything so that it's Biden's fault or woke trans peoples' fault.

yeah i do. not really much to be done about that. but that’ll pass, there’s really not much they can do besides advocate for gun control in these situations anyway.

"A suspect is in custody, the university said in a statement. Kirk was invited by a student group and was speaking when a shot was fired from a campus building about 200 yards away."

No idea who the dude is, but it seems like his "supporters?" should be pleased that he is doing his part to uphold the American constitution.

Apparently not.

UVU spokesperson Scott Trotter released a statement saying the suspect is not yet in custody.

“On September 10, 2025, at 12:20 a single shot rang out in the quad near the food court on the Utah Valley University Orem Campus as Mr. Charlie Kirk began speaking at his planned rally. We can confirm that Mr. Kirk was shot, but we don’t know his condition. The suspect is not in custody. Police are still investigating Campus is closed for the rest of the day.”

Initially it was believed that a shooter was in custody, but officials now say the suspect is not in custody.

According to commenters, at the moment he was shot Kirk had been asked a question about mass shootings in the US. His last words were "Counting or not counting gang violence?"
