Transwomen are not Women - Part 15

It’s a complete disgrace to arrest people for their tweets unless they are explicitly inciting violence against specific people.

It made me a bit curious about whether Glinner has appeared on this forum before, and I discovered that I myself made a thread about him and when he was thrown off Twitter.

Here is one of the tweets…

So that latter part is interesting. When a guy was making videos teaching his dog to make Nazi salutes and was arrested, charged and prosecuted for it, whereas other comedians were aghast at jokes being criminalized, Glinner decided not to defend, but to condemn Meechan.

When Meechan pointed out that Glinner had himself made jokes about Nazis in Father Ted, Glinner responded with the pitiful argument that Meechan was not a proper comedian and therefore his jokes were NOT protected speech.

Glinner apparently changed his mind when he began to fall foul of negative reactions to his own opinions.

I am a 100% in favour of Linehan’s freedom to say what he wants, and also for social media platforms to have their own terms of use, just as we do here at ISF. But unlike Linehan I am not a hypocrite who changes his mind opportunistically.

I don't have a particular remit to defend Graham Linehan, but it's not that uncommon for the scales to fall from someone's eyes when the issue begins to impact them personally. It's human nature. I don't see it as either hypocritical or opportunistic.

If Linehan is still criticising Meacher and defending his arrest and prosecution, I would agree with you. But so far as I know that is not the case.

Interesting, probably true, but all totally irrelevant to a video posted about Lyndsey Watson.

Linehan does appear to be a bit of a prick. But if that was a criminal offence we'd need a hell of a lot more prisons.
Indeed. People ought to be allowed to be as big a prick as they like on social media, with no legal consequences.

Posting some hurty words online should only ever be a civil matter, and the police should never be getting involved in any way. Instead, the offended party ought to be taking civil action rather than getting the police to do their work for them.

Why should they bother when the police have declared themselves to be the enforcement arm of the trans cult?

This is interesting. I don't know when it happened but the tweet is timed at late yesterday evening.

Four or five police officers are apparently arresting a man for an alleged public order offence. The offence? Calling "a member of the public" a muppet.

The audio is not especially clear on the pronouns, but the subtitles say first, "Called HIM a muppet," then, "caused THEM alarm and distress," then "SHE's very upset." Go figure.

Someone in the replies has linked to a two-year-old video where a police officer is threatening to arrest someone else for calling  him a muppet.

I don't really care what sex the "victim" thinks they are, or how upset they are, nobody should be being arrested for calling someone a muppet. The police are arresting grown adults for playground taunts, it seems.

I can already imagine Julia Hartley-Brewer winding up for this one later this morning your time!!

ETA: Love this response in the comments...

Yes, this is a problem across the board.

These things should not be criminalized, and the fact that they are more and more so in the UK is a problem, and this goes far beyond transgender issues.

For example, the UK government has decided to call Palestine Action a terrorist organization and have taken to arresting little old ladies holding up signs:

The British government proscribed Palestine Action as a terrorist group on 5 July 2025 under the UK's Terrorism Act 2000 after members of the network vandalised RAF aircraft at Brize Norton.[13]
Since then, British police have arrested at least 1,601 individuals for showing support to Palestine Action, many of these resulting from sit-ins on Parliament Square on 9 August 2025 and 6 September 2025. Civil liberties groups have criticised the ban as "conflating protest with terrorism".[14]

Oh ◊◊◊◊ me. I love the UK, but this is something out of Monty Python. How can anyone in the UK possibly respect police when five of them arrest someone for this ◊◊◊◊.

I know it won’t get to court, but the UK is now officially a laughing stock.

But you and I both know mate, it doesn't matter to them that it will go nowhere. The whole intention is to use the process to chill free speech, and frighten others into not speaking their minds.

The process IS the punishment!

I think it took him long enough.

Apparently he had a visit from the police back in 2018, and Katie Herzog pointed out in an interview that he had celebrated Meechan (AKA Count Dankula) being prosecuted and fined:

When Scottish YouTube comic Mark Meechan, known online as Count Dankula, was arrested, convicted, and fined 800 EUR for posting a video of a dog doing a “Heil Hitler” salute, Linehan tweeted, “The guy is alt right. This is what they do, sneak fascism and hatred in under the guise of irony. I don’t think he could go to jail, but I’m happy the court saw through it.”

When asked if his own recent visit from the police has made him reconsider his support for hate speech statutes, Linehan said no. In the case of Count Dankula, “hate speech laws were working just as they were supposed to,” he said. When it comes to his own case, however, he thinks police involvement was an overreach as well as poor use of police resources. And, really, nothing much has come of the visit. Linehan hasn’t been charged with a crime or received any kind of citation, and he hasn’t stopped tweeting about Adrian Harrop, either. In his last tweet about Harrop, from December 14, he accused Harrop of using the police as his own personal “goon squad.”

A couple of interesting paragraphs

For a couple of years, whenever I tried to talk to “outsiders” about what was really going on, the problem was not that they disagreed with me. It was that they thought I was making it up. I’d be told that no one, apart from a handful of totally mad people, thought that biological sex wasn’t real or that children were born in the wrong body. No one thought that male rapists should be in women’s prisons or that male bodies belonged in female sports! No one thought a person should be able to switch genders at random, simply on their say-so! Where had I got such crazy ideas?
Trans activist demands were so obviously insane that most people’s natural response was to think you were inventing them in order to make trans people look bad (so no wonder trans people hated terfs!).
Until this issue arose, I had no idea how many self-styled “good” people will support bad things on the basis that other, less important people can take all the hits. Maybe I was incredibly naïve, but I thought of my political opponents as people who believed different things to me, not people who believed the exact same things but considered themselves much more special and exempt from responsibility than their fellow believers.

Whatever. I don't think people have to be perfect in order not to be unreasonably harassed and victimised by police officers acting as the enforcement arm of a dangerous cult of aggressive, narcissistic men. Your mileage may vary.

Thanks! I was going to edit that in when I got to my computer. (It's not easy on a phone.)

I've already said exactly as much, as opposed to Glinner.

Maybe I see him the same way as you might see, say, Gladwell.

Here's another one.

Again you'll get a lot of people criticising Kellie-Jay Keen for various real and perceived sins. But the fact remains that nobody should have to suffer what she has suffered and is suffering at the hands of the transactivists while the police sit on their hands and find pathetic excuses not to act.

I'm not entirely sure about who is involved. She implies pretty heavily that Tarquin is the prime mover. That police have repeatedly refused to take any action against him for clear breaches of the anti-harassment laws, but then leaped into action to arrest Glinner on his complaint.

However, she also said that this has been going on for seven years. If Tarquin is 18 now then he was eleven when this started. I doubt that he was involved then. Reading between the lines, I think she's saying that Watson and the other two individuals that Wings hasn't written about yet are using a succession of young people hyped up on testosterone and a sense of entitlement to attack the people they have targeted.

They've even managed to have her bank account closed. They did the same to Wings.

It's sinister enough, but the police treating them as a sacred caste who can do no wrong and going after their victims is something that should worry everyone.

Wings has published part two of the three-parter on the small group of men pulling the strings of the legal shenanigans of the gender cultists. Unsurprisingly it's Tony Halliday/"Stephanie Hayden".

I'm less sure who the third one is, but I imagine we'll find out later this week.
