That came out of the blue. WTF is this thyroid thing? Can't have dead virus for vaccine but dead thyroid is double plus good.

Secretary Kennedy touted whole virus vaccines over mRNA. I am not sure whether this meant weakened virus or dead (chemically treated) virus, although Dr. Gorski discussed the latter. Dr. Gorski wrote, "Everything in MAHA flows from the idea that messy and crude “natural” extracts are always superior to purified active components or antigens."

US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr has expressed concerns about conflicts of interest (COIs) in HHS vaccine advisory committees. He has stated that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) is “plagued” with COIs and that “97% of the people on [ACIP] had conflicts,” citing a 2000 congressional report on a single vaccine.

New study: Conflicts of interest on CDC vaccine panel were at historic lows prior to RFK Jr dismissal
In our @JAMA_current study, we looked at disclosed conflicts of interest (COIs) in ACIP and VRBPAC (FDA vaccines committee) between 2000 and 2024.
We found that:
although levels in ACIP were pretty high in 2000 (~40%), they have decreased since then
since 2016, COI levels have been 6% for ACIP and 2% for VRBPAC
most COIs were related to research, not to personal income like consulting
Takeaway: although Secretary Kennedy is not wrong to be concerned about COIs in health care, ACIP was not the dumpster fire of COIs that many had assumedJoint with the amazing Peter Lurie and excellent Toni Mankowitz @USCSchaeffer @USCPrice

Thyroid Hormone Replacement Therapy

Since the 1970s, levothyroxine (LT4) has been the mainstay in the treatment of hypothyroidism.

In essence T4 is a pro-drug converted in the body to the active form T3. T4 has a half life of several days in the body so once daily dosing maintains a steady level, T3 has a half life of a few hours so needs dosing more frequently. Most people with thyroid failure will convert exogenous T4 (tablets) to produce normal levels of T3, some will have low T3 levels and feel under replaced, some doctors would give exogenous T3 tablets in addition, but there is not strong evidence of benefit for this. The Normal human ratio of circulating T4 / T3 is about 15/1. Natural thyroid extract (usually from pigs) contains T4/T3 about 4/1. natural thyroid extract is far more variable in its T4 and T3 content than 'pure' T4 or T3 in tablet form. This would be a bit like insisting on taking foxglove extract* to regulate your heart beat rather than pure digoxin in tablets, more to do with your feelings about natural remedies than physiology.

*As a medical student I learnt how to standardise foxglove extract by its effect on slowing the heart beat of an isolated frog's heart! Depending on the season foxgloves have a variable mix of cardiac glycoside chemicals so you can't do a simple chemical assay instead you have to do a biological assay. We also got a free trip to the botanical garden with a lecture on medicinal plants. Luckily we no longer needed to pass a medical botany exam to qualify as used to be the case.
 
Professor Retsef Levi teaches operations management at MIT and is a new member of the advisory committee on immunization practices (ACIP). On 19 August he tweeted, "The @AmerAcadPeds recommends COV19 vaccines that vast majority of medical professionals elect not to take to young babies! What brings them to recommend to babies that have zero risk vaccines that could harm their [heart]?! Financial interests? Personal vendetta? Fanaticism?" At SBM Dr. Jonathan Howard responded, "Babies do not have “zero risk” of COVID. In reality, they have the highest risk of all children, and they don’t arrive with natural immunity. At least in their formal publications, even disinformation doctors Vinay Prasad and Marty Makary were forced to concede that their risk was “on par with those for adults 50 to 64 years old.”

Secretary Kennedy tweeted, "AAP today released its own list of corporate- friendly vaccine recommendations. The Trump Administration believes in free speech and AAP has a right to make its case to the American people. But AAP should follow the lead of HHS and disclose conflicts of interest, including its corporate entanglements and those of its journal —Pediatrics—so that Americans may ask whether the AAP's recommendations reflect public health interest, or are, perhaps, just a pay- to-play scheme to promote commercial ambitions of AAP's Big Pharma benefactors. AAP should also be candid with doctors and hospitals that recommendations that diverge from the CDC's official list are not shielded from liability under the 1986 Vaccine Injury Act." Jonathan Howard countered, "This is disinformation. In reality, vaccines save money by keeping children out of the hospital." Politico also covered Secretary Kennedy's remarks.

Jonathan Howard wrote, "Despite [Retsef] Levi’s emotionally manipulative use of a broken heart emoji, the vaccine poses no risk to babies. Vaccine-myocarditis almost exclusively occurs in males ages 12-24, and even then, it is rare, mild, and transient. Levi treats this as a fate worse than death from COVID. He yawns at that." Dr. Howard continued, "Our medical establishment is not trying to make logical, scientific arguments. They are appealing to raw emotions. They are trying to make people furious, rageful, and distrustful..."

But very much on-brand. Trump doesn't give a flying ◊◊◊◊ about any kids anywhere, dead or alive, probably including his own. Neither does RFK Jr., who has actively tried to poison his own kids by dripping rotten whale-head juices on them during a long drive home from the beach.

At this time, the madness seems to be concentrated in one place, making them an easier target. Perhaps they could all be persuaded to drink some Flint MI tap-water? It's crunchy full of all the stuff they seem to think will stave off diseases.
