The Truth about RFK Jr

Other countries can design and make the vaccines too. Already have. So don't think that the USA not producing them means there will be none. They are simply cutting off their noses to spite their own faces.
Seems unnecessary, they should just leave it all to the leopards.

This thread is so incredibly depressing - I cannot fathom people who could avail themselves of all the impressive progress modern medicine has made, and still willingly, even eagerly, refuse most of it.

But it's God's will.
Same with Trump. Both are a plagues send by the almighty as a punishment for all the atheism...
And the rapture might need a kick start too.

I can understand it from their point of view though.
an mRNA vaccine is costly to research, somewhat costly to produce and needs to be administered only once, or at most a few times.
I have had nine Pfizer-BioNTech mRNA shots against SARS-CoV-2 at this point. Why do you think it "needs to be administered only once, or at most a few times"? It depends on the rate of mutations in the virus, not on the vaccine.
Whereas the proposed alternative solutions are cheap to research, cheap to produce and since they do not work, need to be sold continuously thus giving maximal shareholder returns. And that is what healthcare in the US is about.
Why do you think that the alternatives are cheap to research and produce? And what does it have to do with whether they work or not?
Dr. Offit (see post 2,098) "noted mRNA vaccines have a shorter development cycle," which tends to make products cheaper once you have the technology. I don't know if that is the case with mRNA vaccines, but I don't see why it wouldn't be.

Secretary Kennedy

We reviewed the science, listened to the experts, and acted. BARDA is terminating 22 mRNA vaccine development investments because the data show these vaccines fail to protect effectively against upper respiratory infections like COVID and flu. We’re shifting that funding toward safer, broader vaccine platforms that remain effective even as viruses mutate.

I know the Kennedy name has been tainted by Teddy and Nazi loving Joe, but this creep is dragging a once noble linage to great depths. He is not bright enough to understand the shame he is generating.

He is killing Americans. ◊◊◊◊ him.

UPI wrote, ""I've tried to be objective & non-alarmist in response to current HHS actions -- but quite frankly this move is going to cost lives," Dr. Jerome Adams, who served as Surgeon General in the first Trump administration, said in a post on X. "mRNA technology has uses that go far beyond vaccines... and the vaccine they helped develop in record time is credited with saving millions"...Dr. Jake Scott, a clinical associate professor at Stanford University School of Medicine, said in a post on X that "the claim that mRNA vaccine technology poses more risk than benefits is simply false." He went on to say, "What poses risk is abandoning the most adaptable, scalable vaccine platform we've ever had," he wrote. "Halting future development undermines pandemic preparedness at a time when we can least afford it.""

Because 'alternative' medicine has no quality control, no research, and it's cheap to put sugar water in bottles?

Is he the slightest bit aware that the newly-developed broad spectrum vaccines are actually mRNA based?

At least Dr Mengele knew what he was doing when he murdered people in Auschwitz. RFK Jr. is neither a doctor nor sane enough to understand the "killing factory" he is creating for the US population. The measles outbreak was first warning...

I am planning a major breakthrough: a machine that costs only a little more than a compact car, which will convert the deadly dihydrogen monoxide into harmless hydrogen hydroxide. Get on on the ground floor! Gofundme!

At Science-based Medicine Dr. Steven Novella wrote, "Kennedy’s claim that they pose “more risk than benefit” is a very specific empirical medical claim. This is not a matter of judgement or opinion, but rather of data and math. It is also provably wrong. The most comprehensive review we have to date looked at 99 million doses of mRNA COVID-19 vaccine internationally and found that the benefits far outweigh the risks. The study really just confirmed what previous research had also found...Researchers have been working on a universal flu vaccine for decades. This is still a worthy line of research, and such a vaccine would be highly useful. But this has proven to be a tough nut to crack. Yet Kennedy is confident for not only a universal flu vaccine but one that also covers coronaviruses. So he wants to kill a proven and extremely promising technology that is only getting better, with clear advantages, for a unicorn. A cynical person might wonder if he is trying to divert attention to a low probability goal so he can continue to pretend to be pro-vaccine while scuttling vaccine research. Or maybe he is just the idiot that everyone thought he was...Does RFK Jr. have the authority to cut this funding? Yes, unfortunately. Congress appropriates the funds, but the executive branch can direct it to specific priorities. However, congress still has the power to act. The simplest way would be to pass new legislation which specifically restores the funding. I don’t see this as very likely to happen – but perhaps if there is sufficient outrage from the public (write your congressman and senators) something might happen."

I posted this in the trump thread but it's probably better suited to here

looks like we will give Cancer a pass, because the Cure involves mRNA vaccines:

mRNA is so scary.

REPORTER: You were the driving force behind Operation Warp Speed, these mRNA vaccines that are the gold standard. Now your Health Secretary is pulling back all the funding for research ... what is going on?

TRUMP: Research into what?

REPORTER: mRNA vaccines

TRUMP: We're onto other things

Stephen Colbert's take on RFK Jr.'s attack on (not only) mRNA vaccines. The segment tarts at 6:25-->:
Vance's Epstein Dinner | ICE's Age Cap | RFK Jr. Attacks Vaccines Trump Burns Our Tax Dollars (The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on YouTube, Aug 7, 2025 - 10:55 min.)
Trump Administration officials are gathering to create a strategy for putting the Jeffrey Epstein scandal to rest, ICE is relaxing its recruiting standards, RFK Jr. is cutting funding for mRNA vaccine research, and the president wants to eliminate two satellites responsible for measuring carbon dioxide emissions.
