Florida has no formal hurricane plan for Alligator Alcatraz

After weeks of requests from politicians and media, the state of Florida said it has no formal, completed plan for how to handle a hurricane at Alligator Alcatraz, the new immigrant detention site in the heart of the Everglades.

Two weeks ago, the Miami Herald requested “the completed hurricane/disaster plan for Alligator Alcatraz” from the Florida Department of Emergency Management. On Monday, department spokesperson Stephanie Hartman confirmed that no such record exists.

“There are no responsive records for this request,” she said in an email.

This comes after a Friday press conference at the detention facility, where Gov. Ron DeSantis and FDEM head Kevin Guthrie issued a hearty defense of the state’s ability to protect staff and detainees in the event of a disaster. Guthrie said his team had visited several prisons around the state to explore options for evacuating detainees there, but didn’t commit to any specific plan.

The governor has repeatedly said the tents and trailers at the site are equipped to handle hurricane winds to Category 2 strength — up to 110 mph — and that people onsite would have to be evacuated if more intense winds were expected. The facility already relies on generators for on-site power.

Because, of course, no hurricane stronger than Category 2 has ever hit Florida, right? And if one does, there shouldn't be any problem evacuating 5,000 inmates, right?

Misuse of Oxford comma and En-dashes where there should em-dashes, li'l Eric skipped the proofreader.
Also the use of the subject I when object me should be used.

"that inspired ... I to build" if in doubt remove the 'the team and' and see how it reads. DJT (subject) was doing the inspiring Jnr (object) was being inspired.

Now wonder he didn't get into Harvard.

It also reads a bit weird to me because DJT is consistently referred to in the third person 'my father', 'his vision' 'his mother' and is basically addressing the reader, but then switches to 'from your loving son' as if DJT is the one reading it. Feels odd,

The entire thing is weird as hell from top to bottom lol.

They are the weirdest people imaginable. It's as if all the biggest creeps and weirdoes from all the country's high schools got together and started a political movement.

Good news, federal workers can now spread the Good News about baby Jesus!

The Trump administration will allow federal workers to promote their religious beliefs to colleagues, display religious items at work and pray together or individually, according to a memorandum issued Monday by the Office of Personnel Management.

The guidance, from OPM Director Scott Kupor, declares that federal agencies “should allow personal religious expression by Federal employees to the greatest extent possible unless such expression would impose an undue hardship on business operations.”

This means that a federal worker, according to the memorandum, “may engage another in polite discussion of why his faith is correct and why the non-adherent should re-think his religious beliefs,” but “if the nonadherent requests such attempts to stop, the employee should honor the request.” The memorandum lays out the caveat: “provided that such efforts are not harassing in nature.
I'm sure then, that when so engaged, one can point out why the proselytizer's faith is incorrect, and they shoud STFU.

Only if it doesn't impose an undue hardship on cleaning operations.

Yeah, you'd have to bring your own plastic and cleaning supplies. I'm not sure how long lunch breaks are when working for the Feds but you'd probably have to do it quickly as to not go over the allotted time.
