Trump's Second Term

To give Trump the benefit of the doubt, I think he sees a teenage girlfriend as a Status Symbol, proof that he is part of that fictitious stereotypical world were Men a Rich, have a Trophy wife and underage mistress and spend their days bragging about golf and sexual exploits.
Epstein provided exactly that service of making people think that the True Test of wealth and power is when a young attractive woman is willing to sleep with you in the hopes of financial security.
It's Misogyny born out of status insecurity and, of e, fear of death.
I don't think it's a fictitious world, just reserved for a certain caste of men in history and now outdated in many places. It didn't change overnight but 17 started seeming awfully damn young when paired with 50-year-olds. As in, "Really, guys? You can't go for someone a little more age appropriate?" If the attraction is precisely that she is not legal, ugh. And of course young women connote status; you can prove yourself virile fathering children at 60, extend your genes further into the future, if that's your thing.

I'm very interested in why Trump is ******* his pants at the moment.

Technically a pedophile is attracted to prepubescent kids. An attraction to teenagers (excluding teens attracted to teens) is called hebephila.

It's the same thing with rape, failing to distinguish between statutory rape and rape dilutes the crime.
To correct the correctors, hebephilia refers to children 11-14. For teenagers in the range mostly associated with Trump and his buddies, it's ephebophilia:
Ephebophilia is the primary sexual interest in mid-to-late adolescents, generally ages 15 to 19 and showing Tanner stages 4 to 5 of physical development. The term was originally used in the late 19th to mid-20th century. It is one of a number of sexual preferences across age groups subsumed under the technical term chronophilia. Ephebophilia strictly denotes the preference for mid-to-late adolescent sexual partners, not the mere presence of some level of sexual attraction.

As of July 18 Donald's overall approval rating averages 42% across major polls (e.g., YouGov/Economist: 41%, Gallup: 45%, Rasmussen: 49%), with disapproval at 55%.
When even a crowd that's as rabidly pro-TACO as Rasmussen can't find enough people to pretend that he's not underwater, I wonder what the true approval rating is. It's not 42%, that's for sure.

Yeah I'd call him talented if a middle-school student did it (and I'm not knocking that, I have some very sophisticated art from talented and well-taught 7th graders.) Anyway, it's rather charming.

It's so jarring to me that Johnson would cite a CNN story to begin with! They decry it all as "fake news," but he and his minions will cite the MSM plenty when it goes their way.
There isn't a CNN story though.

Donald's suing Murdoch and Wall Street Journal for $10 billion over the Epstein article

"We have just filed a powerhouse Lawsuit against everyone involved in publishing the false, malicious, defamatory, fake news 'article' in the useless 'rag' that is, The Wall Street Journal.
I hope Rupert and his 'friends' are looking forward to the many hours of depositions and testimonies they will have to provide in this case."

The last thing Donald wants is depositions and testimonies.

It's just a shakedown, he wants them to settle and give him cash like the others he's done it to.
He doesn't want to go to court.

Curse Trump to Hell for making me root for Rupert Murdoch.

Murdoch: 'I gave you life! Why are you eating my face?!'
Leopard: Munch, tear, purr

Murdoch's already nearly a billion in the hole for Trump after the voting machine libel suite.

A solution to an appointment not being approved on a permanent basis: just change the job title.
John Sarcone III was supposed to be removed as interim US attorney for New York’s northern district after a judicial panel refused to make his appointment permanent. Instead, the justice department has made him “special attorney to the attorney general” with the same powers and no time limit.

I wish more people did care - people use diminutives such as "kiddie fiddlers" which downplays paedophilia, and using paedophile to refer to those that had sex with a 17-year-old in the UK where the age of consent is 16 i.e. Windsor I think makes it easier for people to not think about the sheer horror of what actual paedophiles do.

His sexualization of Ivanka was weird and as much about territory as sex, I think. It was because she was his...

I think this also illustrates trump's inability to form normal (i.e. conventional) relationships with people. Over the years he has made it pretty clear that fatherhood is of no interest to him. But I think realistically, given his mental/emotional persona, the nurturing/loving father/child relationship is something he's just not capable of.

The leader of the Free World. :(

The thing is, while utterly evil, Ole Rupe's not an idiot and he's been souring on TACO for a while.

But Brian, why Fox?, I hear you say. That's more Lachlann's bailiwick these days and he's more of an experiment to see what would happen if you rolled the worst traits of the most incompetent villains into one husk than a real boy.
