The Truth about RFK Jr

Science-based medicine founder Steven Novella looked into the pros and cons of seed oils. He wrote, "Do not listen to anything RFK Jr. has to say. He is a dangerous health crank and conspiracy theorist who does not know how to interpret scientific evidence."

MedPageToday reported, "[Dr. John] Lynch, who oversees his hospital's infection prevention and control program, said the real-world consequences of the updated recommendations are already emerging. When a pregnant healthcare colleague asked him whether she should get the COVID vaccine, he said, "yes, unambiguously." "She went to two pharmacies yesterday, and both pharmacies said no," he said."

TheMedicineMaker reported, "Argentina has officially confirmed its withdrawal from the World Health Organization (WHO) during a visit by US Health Secretary RFK Jr to Buenos Aires. President Javier Milei's administration criticized the WHO for prioritizing political agendas over scientific evidence, citing its handling of the COVID-19 pandemic as "disastrous". During his visit, Kennedy met with Argentine Health Minister Mario Lugones to establish a collaborative agenda aimed at enhancing transparency and trust in health systems. Kennedy, known for his vaccine skepticism, has been vocal in urging other nations to leave the WHO, accusing the organization of being influenced by China, gender ideology, and pharmaceutical industry interests."

NBC News reported, "Pressed about the confusion and whether Americans are now trading one side of public distrust in the health system for another, [Dr. Marty] Makary defended Kennedy, who has been criticized for spreading misinformation. “My experience with Secretary Robert F. Kennedy is that he listens. He listens to myself, he listens to Jay Bhattacharya, listens to Dr. Mehmet Oz, he listens to a host of scientists that are giving him guidance,” Makary argued, referring to the director of the National Institutes of Health and the administrator for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, respectively."

Jesus! In other words he listens to a bunch of cranks.

You can now get your ivermectin over the counter in three states.

As ivermectin goes over the counter, some pharmacists worry about a lack of guidance

The drug, used to treat parasitic worms, has not been formulated or labeled specifically for over-the-counter use, like aspirin or an antacid.

Boise, Idaho, pharmacist Matt Murray has no choice but to disappoint the handful of people who call him every day asking for a drug used to treat parasitic worms.

He could give them the medication, called ivermectin, but only with a doctor’s note.

The callers aren’t in the throes of an active intestinal worm infestation, Murray said. They simply want access to the pills without having to see a doctor first.

“A lot of people are calling, asking, ‘Do you guys have it for sale? Can I buy it? How do I get it?’” said Murray, the director of operations for the independent Customedica Pharmacy. “Not so much, ‘How does it work? What is it for?’”

The volume of such calls has increased sharply since mid-April, when Idaho Gov. Brad Little, a Republican, signed a bill into law mandating that ivermectin be available to anyone who wants it over the counter.

While the law technically says that pharmacists like Murray can sell the drug over the counter, the Food and Drug Administration hasn’t approved it to be used this way.

“I don’t feel that we could just sell prescription ivermectin,” Murray said. “It’s not designed or packaged for retail sale.”

That hasn’t stopped frenzied social media claims about ivermectin’s supposed “miraculous” abilities to cure everything from Covid to cancer.

“Ivermectin eliminated the cancer on the skin of my shoulder and it only took 3 weeks,” one person wrote on X. “It’s also working wonders on my eczema,” another wrote on the platform.

No, it didn't.

I should know better by now, but I'm still amazed at how many morons will ignore sound medical advice but will listen to any nutjob or snake oil peddler on social media.

Social media is cheaper and wishful thinking is free.

RFK Jr. removes all members of CDC panel advising U.S. on vaccines

  • Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on Monday said he is “retiring” all 17 members of a crucial government panel of vaccine advisors.
  • Kennedy is removing all members of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, or ACIP, which advises the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
  • It’s the latest move by Kennedy – a prominent vaccine skeptic – to change and potentially undermine vaccinations in the U.S. since he took the helm at HHS.
Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on Monday said he is “retiring” all 17 members of a crucial government panel of vaccine advisors.

“A clean sweep is needed to re-establish public confidence in vaccine science,” Kennedy said in an opinion piece in the Wall Street Journal on Monday.

The advisor overhaul is the latest move by Kennedy – a prominent vaccine skeptic – to change and potentially undermine vaccinations in the U.S. since he took the helm at HHS.

He said Monday HHS will put “the restoration of public trust above any pro- or antivaccine agenda.”

You sick ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ piece of ◊◊◊◊! You really are bound and determined to kill millions, aren't you?

Yeah, it's bad!

Wow. RFK announced via a Wall Street Journal opinion piece that he is removing all 17 members of the Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices, which is the expert panel at the CDC that decides who is eligible for vaccines and whether insurers should cover them.

RFK will likely replace scientific experts on the CDC's Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices with antivaxxers who will use their power to further restrict vaccine access and spread disinformation. This signifies an alarming escalation in the collapse of US public health.
Will Andrew Wakefield be one of the new ones?
Or is he already onboard?

The Guardian reported, "“Without removing the current members, the current Trump administration would not have been able to appoint a majority of new members until 2028,” Kennedy wrote. Kennedy, in a Wall Street Journal opinion piece, said the committee members had too many conflicts of interest. Committee members routinely disclose any possible conflicts at the start of public meetings...[Dr. Geroge] Benjamin said the move raises real concerns about whether future committee members will be viewed as impartial. He added that Kennedy is going against what he told lawmakers and the public, and the public health association plans to watch Kennedy “like a hawk”."

In February ProtectOurCare wrote, "RFK Jr. Assured Cassidy He Would Maintain The CDC’s ACIP Without Changes. Cassidy said, “If confirmed, [RFK] will maintain the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices without changes.” [Chief Health Care Executive, 2/11/25]"

TheHill reported, "Ahead of Kennedy’s Senate confirmation vote, Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.) said Kennedy pledged to maintain the panel “without changes.” In a post on X, Cassidy said he had just spoken with Kennedy about the move. “Of course, now the fear is that the ACIP will be filled up with people who know nothing about vaccines except suspicion,” he said. “I’ve just spoken with Secretary Kennedy, and I’ll continue to talk with him to ensure this is not the case.”"

At SBM Dr. David Gorski quoted Dr. Marty Makary: "I think we can learn a lot from individual experiences. We tend to talk in the lexicon of clinical medicine about level 1, 2, and 3 evidence. It has become this sort of dogma that we can only do things with evidence, and the evidence has been categorized in this artificial framework of level 1. 2. and 3, one defined as randomized control trials. Level one is better than two is better than three" Dr. Gorski wrote, "More saliently, note the similarity between what Dr. Makary said four days ago and what Dr. Katz said 17 years ago, specifically that anecdotes can trump randomized controlled clinical trials (RCTs). It goes beyond that, though. Both portray evidence-based medicine as “dogma,” with Dr. Makary calling it that explicitly."

Dr. Gorski went on to discuss Dr. Vinay Prasad, "Yet there was Dr. Prasad, nodding along with his boss Dr. Makary as his boss intoned that RCTs aren’t always necessary and questioned the construct of “levels of evidence” as “artificial” and dogmatic, asserting that anecdotal evidence can be “causal until proven otherwise.”"

The states can cover for CDC failure or inaction as they did with Covid. But they work together best in large scale pandemics. See Michael Lewis: The Premonition.

RFK Jr. doesn't remember the mad stuff he did only yesterday, and invents more mad stuff today. So why would anyone expect him to keep important promises he clearly doesn't even remember?
