I'd still like to see a link to those FBI files, granted I won't so you are probably right. How do I say this delicately? I think we've arrived at a point in these proceedings where we should all ease up a bit.

He said they are in the archives. Somewhere. Close enough for a direct citation?I'd still like to see a link to those FBI files, granted I won't so you are probably right.
Yes. We keep lab notebooks in a specific format (Ampad #22-157) which are then notarized and kept in the custody of the company librarian. Contemporaneous notes kept by anyone have legal significance for all kinds of different purposes. Similarly, when you do work as an expert witness, everything you do for that from the moment you start to the moment you testify is discoverable. Opposing counsel will sometimes ask for your notes to see if they can challenge you on foundation under Rule 702 that requires you to demonstrate "principles and methods." There are all kinds of reasons why initial sketchy notes might be retained. When testifying in construction litigation, I was advised to keep all my notes on the matter, as there were occasions when my personal original notes could be legitimately required to be submitted as evidence and examined (never happened to me, but a lawyer I was working with said he had seen it happen).
Gee, if there were only some way to examine this information in context so that we can judge its import...This may be the same kind of thing; the writer was required to keep everything, even if it was early information that was getting bungled.
It is not.I will first start with my rebuttal that the luma curve exposing the alpha halo or boards is a first step to investigating a composite photo and its artifacts.
Your personal work has been shown to be badly wrong. For instance, you have not responded to criticism about your "ear" pics, one with a dark background and one with a bright one. Both show halos, although you report one was unaltered. In my opinion. I have shown. Personal work. Second, personal photo used as example. And links to videos of others applying it.
That doesn’t actually mean anything in the English language.Just say. I do not believe those photos were tampered with. Or tampered with sith ill intent. And we can dis usa that rather than the application of any photo manipulation to expose possible artifacts.
Seriously man? You really want to do composition criticisms? Your posts read like a cat walked across a speak and spell and you're going to go ape ◊◊◊◊ over my use of "literally"?Thanks thermal. Now enjoy me ranting about your use of "literal"
please do not spam delete this. Itnis not spam or joking. It contains humor and is a mote polite way than rudely refuting fhe use of the definition of a word.

Got to stop you. Professionals. Fine. Ill ask what you mean.
Literal professionals.
Do you go to a literal doctor.
Do you go to the literal library
Do you love your literal mom
Do you literally have to literally say that they literally are literal professionals to literally prove your literal point that you we literally trying to literally make?

This almost happened to me once at a bench trial (way off topic but it was fun). My report was headed "DHvDB", and I hadn't corrected it on one version. The adversary was kind of fishing with me and asked what it signified. I was as evasive as I could be within decorum, saying it was my early reference for the matter, but the attorney insinuated that I may have mixed up files, as the parties initials were not DH and DB. The judge instructed me to answer the question. I had to say before his honor that "It stands for dickhead versus deadbeat, but let me explain...", then improvised a dissertation about how "dickhead" was my personal shorthand for an aggressive type A personality and so on. When asked about "Deadbeat", I said my findings spoke to that in detail. Low rent constriction litigation in Jersey can be a good time, and the judge had a sense of humor about it.Opposing counsel will sometimes ask for your notes to see if they can challenge you
Words to defend photos. Is that like ears to defend pictures.Wowowoooowwww that's waaaaaay too much credit! I really am an absolute beginner with digital imaging and image editing/conversion, I only know a part of the most basic concepts.
Just enough to have a general feel to have an idea what the minimum requirements would be to prove that a certain analytical method validly, with good statistical power, actually distinguishes between "natural" image degradation and "artificial" manipulation of the sort our interlocutor suggests.
In other words: I expect some well-structured thinking to occur, where a comprehensive explanation if given.
But I noticed something just now that gives little reason to hope for such a comprehensive explanation to be forthcoming:
nt1's posts are organized as mostly single lines, separated by paragraph breaks (2 line breaks). Each such line (even if there are two or three on occasion, those hardly qualify as paragraphs) contains short sentences, or mere phrases that do not amount to a grammatically complete sentence. There is no coherent, structured argument. Ever. Just blurted out half-ideas. And I suggest this accurately reflects a lack of coherent and comprehensive thinking.
Contrast with any post by JayUtah (and many of mine): These contain actual paragraphs. Each paragraph composed of several full, grammital sentences, each devoted to developing an idea.
From paragraph to paragraph, the argument keeps evolving.
What a sharp contrast to nt1's blurted-out one-liners!
Lets try. Thats sounds like fun.If I provide you with 6 pictures, three I have tampered with and three I haven't, would you be able to tell me which three are untouched?
Before discussing the cancellations, don't you think it would be a good idea to show a reason why they should be discussed? AFAICT, all you've done with everything you've put forward here is pure CT-style anomaly-hunting, saying "oh, this is unusual, and that is unusual," without first laying any foundation for thinking these things are, in proper context, unusual at all. So, with the cancellations, can you show that there were, for that time period, an unexpected number of them? Can you show that there is any connection between a conspiracy and the specific people who cancelled? Those would be good places to start- without them, you're not just putting the cart before the horse, you're loading the cart with junk and wishing for a horse to pull treasure.![]()
While researching the cancellations i found this persons write up.
Still working on it. I started a thread because someone mentioned it. I was going to come back and add the links and different subjects.
Ill just keep it here.
Anyone with some spare time should read that, if you want a stellar example of anomaly hunting. The author appears to think air travel was like it is today, with TSA, clearances and all the stuff we've gotten accustomed to. Yeah, no, most of us remember how easy it was to get on and off planes and slap dash record keeping. A bunch of the fliers were indicated as "no name" and were using other people's passes. Yes, kiddies, that's really what it used to be like.![]()

..OP thinks this is a silver bullet. Methinks it is a little silver ananchovy.
What! Is that true? Could we have been saved from Family Guy, all the spinoffs, Ted and The Orville, if only he'd woken up earlier?Anyone with some spare time should read that, if you want a stellar example of anomaly hunting. The author (some rando with a new substack account) finds it weird that one of the flight 77 passengers cancelled that flight twice, months in advance. I guess the author doesn't understand that cross country plans can be thwarted by personal, family, and work scheduling conflicts. Repeatedly, even. Like if you're going to visit the grandkids but stuff keeps popping up to change the visit date.
Eta: another thing the apparently dimwitted author doesn't seem to understand: why people cancelled their reservations last minute, or as she notes, one who cancelled a minute after boarding closed. Back then, you could sometimes get a refund (or partial refund) if you cancelled within a certain window, giving the airline a chance to sell your seat to whoever wanted one at a last minute discount (fairly common back then). And these were early morning flights; a lot of people
(like Seth McFarlane) simply overslept and made the call to get their refund as soon as they realized they couldn't make it, some too late, like the one minute late guy
Eta2: I remember a little hustle a buddy of mine used to do: you make a reservation, then cancel it within the refund window, and just show up at the gate to score the discounted ticket instead of the full price one you paid for (and you could be confident there was s seat because you had reserved it). He used to go to Florida like that all the time. You just couldn't do it during certain high demand times (like during a school break) because it was likely your spot would get gobbled up faster than you could recover it
nt1, can you work with Andy_Ross on this, or explain why you wont?nt1

eta: Oops, I missed some posts. nt1 has said he will work on this. I hope they can work it out and I'm interested in the outcome if so.
Post #686, at the end.Where has he said this?
I can't find the post
