Who should run for the Dems?

She's Hispanic and a woman. IMO even if she had policies which resonated with 80% of the electorate, people would still find a way not to be sure about her, her experience or her performance under pressure and vote for the white fundamental Christian man running for the GOP instead.
It's partly this kind of negativity that put people off Hillary and Kamala. How about a bit of infectious enthusiasm?

◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊. America has already had a black president, and a female candidate who won the popular and would have won the electoral vote if she hadn't insulted half the electorate and had actually bothered to campaign in the most-important swing states.

So, black or female is acceptable to the American electorate, but Hispanic and female is not? Give me a ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ break. You're getting pretty desperate to cling to your conception of America as hopelessly racist. You need to get over it already.

Get real, both of you. Hillary won the popular vote, and only lost the electoral vote because she insulted half the electorate and failed to campaign in the most important swing states. Kamala never had a chance...not because she's black of female, but because she was a terrible candidate—a woke empty suit who half the time couldn't complete a sentence.

The Don has a typically outsider understanding of race in American politics. Which is to say a nonsensical and gratuitously chauvinistic understanding.
Funny how everyone agrees that US media is too biased to accurately report on politics, yet independent foreign media is always wrong no matter what.
History suggests that most international outlets see much more clearly what is going on.

and you're still mad about it

She didn't insult "half the electorate". She accurately pointed out that while many perspective Trump voters were people with legitimate gripes who felt left behind by the system, there was a very pronounced group of them that are dumb bigots. And millions of you stood up and enthusiastically identified as the latter.
and had actually bothered to campaign in the most-important swing states.
ya, but that still doesn't explain losing to a historically awful and unqualified candidate.
So, black or female is acceptable to the American electorate,
one or the other. Also, the one half black guy we had followed up a historically unpopular Republican president and campaigned against a guy who was just there because it was his turn. A guy who didn't even have full support of his own party. McCain was a sacrificial lamb while the GOP figured out where to go next.
but Hispanic and female is not?
Not at the same time

Who just go elected president? An addle brained racist who had a disastrous term already and is somehow shaping up to be worse. A guy you can watch sundown in real time. And here we have to pretend you think Harris couldn't speak.

"woke" meaning "not racist enough for me".

If she has grown up and learned to play nice, she could win.
Ignoring the attempt to infantilize the grown woman, what do you mean by "play nice"? Run around hand-in-hand with January 6 co-conspirators? Stop campaigning on the issues people care about?

Cooperate with the Democrats unlike how she was when she was first elected.

This is nothing but a lie. Kamala was and is very articulate and intelligent. Not sure why you guys feel the need to attack black women in such a...

Oh, got it.

You mean uphold Democratic principles? Why is it wrong for her to hold out to get more for her constituents but celebrated for right-wing Dems to do it for their donors?

Rhodes scholarship doesn't really have anything to do with Cecil Rhodes anymore.

Do you expect to be taken seriously as an adult with such nonsense? He literally had to stop taking questions from Kristi Noem at a town hall because he was too tired and just wanted to sway to the music. But, hey, the black lady has an awkward laugh.

Meh, Harris is a terrible public speaker, she's particularly bad in interviews, but I also realize that's a pretty funny thing to say when Trump is the president.

Could you see a scenario where you do vote for her? And if so what would that scenario look like?
Not at this point. But then, I couldn't see a scenario where I'd vote for Hillary Clinton, until it happened. Sadly, I also couldn't see a scenario where I'd change my mind and not vote for Hillary Clinton after all, until it happened.

I'd need to learn more about what kind of politician AOC is becoming, before I was prepared to speculate.

If you had to choose today between AOC and Donald Trump who would you vote for?

Mu.

Your question makes no sense. There is no scenario, now or ever in the future, where AOC runs against Donald Trump. I will withhold my opinion unless and until there's a Republican front-runner and AOC is the Democrat front-runner. All I will say for now is that I would really like to see AOC become that Democrat front-runner.

Interesting that you cannot say who you would choose between Trump and AOC. Tsk tsk.

AOC has many flaws and has a long way to go to mature into a truly seasoned political representative, but she is still light-years ahead of Trump with regards to respecting our Constitution, democracy, our international obligations and relationships, and simply personal demeanor and mental health.

The choice would be pretty easy. I would have NO choice but to vote for AOC, since I love my country.
