Trump's Second Term

I think I have mentioned this before... but it always amazes me how... short-sighted stock market investors are.
- The deal is only for 90 days, so much uncertainty exists
- There are still significant tariffs in place
- The US is till run by a convicted felon who is such a poor businessman that he bankrupted multiple casinos

Yet they use the excuse of "he's hurting us less than he was yesterday" as a reason for a stock market rally.

The stock market is divorced from reality, when capital found ways to profit from companies, or even countries, failing or from destroying going concerns they ceased to be 'investors' and became parasites on people who actually do things.

His mate must be buying it illegally, as that is not the price in the UK with a private prescription.

Or, and I realise this is a controversial theory but hear me out, I think if pressed I could gather some evidence to support it. Trump could be talking utter bollocks. Again.

Big Pharma wants all the benefits with no of the drawbacks - it could just give the patents to the government for the cost of development plus a bonus depending on impact and let it sort out the litigation.
Think of pharma bro. He bought the US market rights to an out of patent generic drug and hiked the price, the US was paying 30x the rest of the world price. Elsewhere the original 'inventor' and patent holder had continued to produce the drug at cost because the major market was the developing world, it was an essential drug and no one was interested in producing a generic version at that price. US shareholders will sue or try hostile leveraged buyouts if pharmaceutical companies fail to maximise profit. Private equity firms will nurture start ups with novel molecules, do the low cost animal and phase one research then sell the molecule to big pharma at a massive profit. Big pharma do the expensive research; large scale clinical trials which are required by governments, post marketing surveillance required by governments, large scale manufacturing and marketing. Private equity profits are higher than those of publicly listed companies (big pharmaceutical companies).

There is also an odd idea that the research somehow belongs to America. The owners of the companies aren't the US, they will be Australian pension funds, Norways national investment fund, Saudi princes etc. Few discoveries are generally de novo, they are the results of many peoples previous research. All large clinical trials are multinational,

What Trump, the HF, the Tech Bros and the Evangelicals have in common is a belief in the imminent arrival of The End Times.
Trump because he can't imagine a world after him.
The Tech Bros because they believe the AI Singularity is around the corner.
The HF and the Evangelicals because they believe that once they made the US the Greatest Christian Nation, their savior will return (Washington and/or Jesus).

This is why norms need to be broken, laws ignored, why it doesn't matter if Medical Research, Meals on Wheels and Healthcare are defunded: once they tick all their Boxes, they will all get Raptured in their own personal way.

Trump's Attorney General Pam Bondi, who is approving Trump's luxury jet gift from Qatar, previously worked as a foreign lobbyist for Qatar.

How much will it cost to fit it out with the extra's found on Air Force One?
Things like the communications, defensive systems etc. It's not just a standard aircraft with an office and bed room in it.
Enough to make the donation well worth it for the donators, once Trump gives them a good look at it or they buy it back from him to help him pay back debts?

Like Roman Emperors and Chinese emperors, Trump collects tribute. But he is doing the collecting. Real emeperors have the lower rank send a yearly caravan with goodies.

Chris Murphy: "Let's be clear what this trip is all about. This is President Trump's corruption tour of the Middle East. He is going to the gulf to collect tribute. What's happening here is an extraordinary level of corruption. We shouldn't pretend this is business as usual."
