Split Thread Diversity Equity and Inclusion and merit in employment etc

I'll be mister nice guy and repost the link here so that nobody needs to go tediously wasting all day searching two pages back, at least until argument about what the link contains progresses another two pages forward:

Of course I realize also that since it was not Johnny Karate who posted it, it might fail the conservative test for perfect precision - nor do I vouch for the link's contents, but I'm feeling reckless this morning.

Very interesting.

Of course these are mere allegations. And as we all know racial discrimination in hiring is completely illegal, so where are the court cases showing that these companies indeed engaged in illegal racial discrimination in hiring?

If Disney and all the other companies in fact are engaging in racial discrimination against non white people, where the ◊◊◊◊ are the lawsuits proving it??

I have provided news articles proving that racial discrimination against whites has taken place in various civil service exams and other hiring policies. Where are the similar news articles showing that other companies engaged in racial discrimination against non-whites, proven in a court of law?

I am sure such examples do exist. But I would like to see hard evidence that they exist not mere allegations and rumors.

There are some very hefty civil penalties for racial discrimination in employment.

If the allegations are true I see no reason why they would not be brought to court. And let a judge and jury decide if discrimination really took place.

They're not "allegations". They're vetted studies that draw conclusions based on research and data.

Yes, if only there had ever been some kind of legal proceeding regarding racial discrimination.

Accusations of violating the Civil Rights act need to be supported by legal authorities, such as the Justice Department or state court. Otherwise its just hearsay and allegations.

Valid accusations of racial discrimination in housing, employment, education or public accomodations are brought to the courts.

I'm not sure I can express how little I care what you think is "valid". The ignorance and dishonesty of your posts makes them barely worth engaging with except to mock how ignorant and dishonest they are.

Nah, they're just allegations. There no actual evidence of hiring discrimination based on race. That's what you need.

A supporter of anti-vaxxerism being dismissive of valid scientific data? What a shocker.

Uh, are you making fart noises again? Herc is right - if there was actual evidence of racial discrimination in hiring there'd be lawsuits about it. Those lawsuits often allow for attorney fees on top of financial recovery. Where are the lawsuits if the evidence is actually there?

I provided proven instances of racist discrimination. You? Mere allegations never proven in court.

I wasn't originally asked about lawsuits. I was asked about the existence of discrimination. I provided evidence of that. The lawsuit request was an after-the-fact goal-post shift. Why would I respond to such bad faith engagement from dishonest actors? I'd just as soon try to convince a Trump supporter that they aren't an anti-science, fascist, mouth-breathing moron.

What's hilarious is that some of your own sources from the post in question demonstrate the opposite of what your apparent intention was and you don't even know that because it seems that you don't read your own sources, either.

I don't know where you live but in this country, when an employer is accused of racial discrimination they are taken to court. We haven't tolerated this sort of thing for the last 40 years.

There is no honest reason not to sue an employer in a court of law if they are accused of racial discrimination in hiring or other employment practices.

You have no idea what you're talking about, and your accusations are simply incorrect.

I also suspect you will not defend your allegations. Again.

Now those goalposts are at "never proven in court". I wonder where they'll go next.

I don't know about you but I don't believe that an employer is actually guilty of racial discrimination unless they have actually been brought to court.

Otherwise it is just baseless libel.

Anyone can accuse anyone of anything.

If you truly believe the accusation you bring it to court.

I can't believe anyone would accuse an employer of systemic racial discrimination and not file a lawsuit.

Such a situation would be very fishy. They would at least make an out of court settlement.
