Yeah, its a problem. They've already "mistakenly" sent a self-deport letter to a native born U.S. citizen so it's only a matter of time.

Well germans are not traditionally considered white in america, just ask ben franklin
Well, I hope you're right, but we're already seeing legal green card holders spirited away in shackles by masked and anonymous agents in unmarked cars, some it seems deported without even the courtesy of being told why. Once upon a time due process was for everyone, not just us. I think the Rubicon has been crossed. "US citizens" is the point where the complacent populace looks over and says "How the hell did he get all the way over there?"I think US citizens is the rubicon. Though I am not hopeful about any of this.
It’s also like a two-hour read, tops.Slightly OT as it was the UK, but the same thing may be happening in the US. I was a bit shocked a few years back when one of the waitresses at the pub I was working at mentioned they were studying 'Animal Farm' for her English exams, (probably mis)quoted 'They looked from pigs to men and men to pigs but it became harder and harder to tell which was which' and she looked at me like I was mad, so I said that it was at least approximately the closing lines of the book. She told me they didn't study the whole book just extracts from it. What is the point studying a book like Animal Farm in bits so the message is lost?
Worth pointing out that Musk became a US citizen by first being an illegal worker, then getting a green card, then being naturalised in 2002. So definitely not a "true" citizen by ICE standards.Well, I hope you're right, but we're already seeing legal green card holders spirited away in shackles by masked and anonymous agents in unmarked cars, some it seems deported without even the courtesy of being told why. It's legit, but there's a major caveat: The DOJ is no longer independent and could refuse to prosecute.
Even Nineteen Eighty-Four is a short read. I first read it inside the space of a night. It’s also like a two-hour read, tops.
1984 I can see reading selected chapters, as it’s difficult to get a good sampling of lit in a short time.
Except Congress can't unless Republicans grow a spine. Even if the Democrats get a usable, awkward squad proof, House majority in 2026 any attempt to do anything will die without a Senate supermajority - and that requires Republican help.Judge recommends criminal charges, Trump pardons everyone charged.
This goes nowhere. Only Congress can solve this.
Or The People.
If Dems win control of just one house of Congress, they can begin hearings and investigations with subpoena power.Except Congress can't unless Republicans grow a spine. It will never happen. The Republicans are the party of Trump.
They can impeach to their hearts' content but without a Senate supermajority, there won't be a conviction and without a conviction there are no consequences. We've been through this before. If Dems win control of just one house of Congress, they can begin hearings and investigations with subpoena power.
And they can write bills to limit Trump's power with regards to trade and other things.
And he can be impeached again if they win the House.
And if they really want to, they could shut down the govt to try to force Trump to stand down.
If that video is genuine, it is one of the things the German's did as part of their process of removing their undesirables:...snip....
That type of behaviour is straight out of the Nazi (and of course other dictatorships) playbook. People wondered how many "average" Germans ended up complicit in so many atrocities, well it's like the canard about a frog in saucepan and gradually boiling the water. This type of misbehaviour doesn't just humiliate the victim; it affects the perpetrators and moves them closer to being inured to outright atrocities.
Another thing the cultists will have to pretend not to see the problem with, while either cherishing the news or burying their faces in their hands going "oh god, now I have to internalize this as a good thing, too" for then to reach for the whiskey bottle.![]()
