Yeah, we can add 'brown people being disappeared to a foreign prison to be tortured for not seeking asylum correctly' to the list of things the fascism cheerleaders are actively supporting and excusing. Where is that on the fascism checklist? 14? 88? 47? 1933?

He was released and ICE did not appeal. Since then, Abrego Garcia has checked in with ICE yearly while the Department of Homeland Security issued him a work permit, his attorneys said in court filings. If he was in such danger, why didn't he Apply for asylum as soon as he got to the USA?

Why did he wait almost a decade, after he was arrested, to suddenly decide he was in danger?

Something is missing here.



Not saying he deserved to be sent to the evil prison, but sent back to El Salvador? Perhaps. Or maybe sent to a third country, since he was not in fear of being in Venezuela, Columbia, Mexico, Spain, etc.

I understand you attacking the victim, that reads as justifying the actions. Kind of like people totally were not excusing the death of George Floyd by constantly pointing out he had a criminal history and was on drugs at the time.

If you are not justifying these actions, don't attack the victim. No one here is saying that if this trump administration unlike the last one that gave him residency could have challanged his residency and those would be arguments for the court to consider.

But hey I guess talking about what the victim was wearing and acting is totally normal and not at all justify rape either.

How juvenile. The USA did not harm this guy, and I agree we should request him sent back to the USA. But El Salvador had already said no.

Maybe if concepts like truth, lies, and accountability meant something to them you'd get through to them that way. You might as well catch a cat stealing food from your plate and berate it for lacking table manners. They live in a postfact world, reality is whatever they and Benito Dumpolini decide it is. The only constant seems to be their support for Dump and his fascism, and that cruelty is the point.

Probably because he didn't want to be sent back. If he had applied, he would have been put on the governments radar and sent back if he failed to be granted asylum. Applying for asylum in the US has been a crap shoot in the past, and it was easier to blend in when he came in illegally.

Does nothing to excuse his being sent to a Salvadorian prison for life by "accident", which yes, everyone here thinks you are trying to excuse.

See the difference between a prison and a concentration camp is a little thing called due process...

"What distinguishes a concentration camp from a prison (in the modern sense) is that it functions outside of a judicial system. The prisoners are not indicted or convicted of any crime by judicial process."

i agree there could be many reasons why that is. i’m not sure what reasonable expectations you’d put on an immigrant’s ability to file paperwork.

in any case hercules, imagine we had the ability to ask him and that he had a reason you’d accept as valid. now where does your argument take you?
