Merged Due process in the US

Leavitt: "Abrego Garcia was a foreign terrorist. He is an MS-13 gang member. He was engaged in human trafficking." (The White House hasn't provided evidence for any of these claims ... )

He's going to do it isn't he?

DOOCY: Deporting American citizens to Central American prisons -- is it legal?

LEAVITT: Well, it's another question that the president has raised. It's a legal question that the president is looking into.

Remember when the Republicans said we were just silly about the country turning fascist is Trump won? Many of them still are.
Before they said we were silly for thinking it would happen. Now they say we are silly for thinking its a bad thing.

Of course he's going to do it. He'll start out with a couple convicted murderers and sooner or later he'll get around to student protesters, political opponents, and people who say he cheats at golf.

If you think this was a mistake, you will probably believe . . . everything Leavitt says.
A Massachusetts immigration lawyer who is a US-born American citizen is speaking out after she received an email from Trump administration immigration authorities telling her she needed to leave the country.

Nicole Micheroni described receiving an email on 11 April – and that its heading was “notice of termination of parole”.

“It is time for you to leave the United States,” the email read. “If you do not depart the United States immediately you will be subject to potential law enforcement actions that will result in your removal from the United States.”

Micheroni told NBC Boston: “At first I thought it was for a client, but I looked really closely and the only name on the email was mine.

She added, “Probably, hopefully, [it was] sent to me in error. But it’s a little concerning these are going out to US citizens.”
This corrupt administration is going to do it, they're gonna deport their enemies. This was a trial balloon.

Leavitt: "Abrego Garcia was a foreign terrorist. He is an MS-13 gang member. He was engaged in human trafficking." (The White House hasn't provided evidence for any of these claims ... )

As far as I can tell, this claim of human trafficking was first mentioned by Leavitt herself.
No government attorney or official apart from her has ever said it. It appears to be total fiction.

No one will press her on it, and even if the legacy media grew some balls and did, this corrupt administration would gin something up.

The lie is spreading

JD Vance
@JDVance

The entire American media and left wing industrial complex has decided the most important issue today is that the Trump admin deported an MS-13 gang member (and illegal alien)

Homan on Abrego Garcia: "If somehow he comes back and that happens, he's gonna be detained and removed again ... what's the sense of bringing someone back who's simply going to face deportation again?"

Homan: "We're gonna target every foreign national public safety threat in this country. We won't rest until every single one of them are eradicated from this country."

Note "eradicated" not deported.

he was here legally at the time of his illegal arrest and deportation.

anyway i have nothing more to discuss with you on the matter. you can cling to that if you want, i find the argument repugnant

Fact: his application for asylum was denied. Why? You are supposed to apply for asylum within one year of coming to the USA, be it legally or illegally. He however decided to wait almost a decade till after he was busted for working in the USA illegally, to ask for asylum.

This guy really screwed up. If he had even attempted to play by the rules, even though he came here illegally and was working here illegally, he would probably be in a much better place right now.

If we are going to fight against Trump's disregarding of court orders, and fight against his deportation of people, can't we do it for someone who is decent and follows the rules???? Why do we have to do it for someone who clearly gave USA a gigantic middle finger.... Until he is caught and then begs us for help.

Sigh.

Because it doesn't matter. Due process has to be followed it's up to the courts to decide not summary justice.

Clearly those claims are sufficient to send anyone to a Salvadoran prison with no due process. You must really hate courts and laws, it should be the strong who rule and everyone else who accepts their divine judgement.

But he didn't get it, and you think that's OK for some reason, while posting reasons you think he deserved to be deported.
That is a lie. I have never once said he should have been deported, let alone deported to El Salvador, let alone deported to the prison in El Salvador.

If you are going to respond to my comments please do it honestly.

REPORTER: There are laws on the book that make it a criminal offense to harbor illegal immigrants, like sanctuary state leaders have been doing. Do you think they should be prosecuted and possibly put in prison?

HOMAN: Absolutely. And hold tight on that one, because it's coming.

1) who ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ asked that question?

2) the "sanctuary cities" are using the same legal right that has been exercised by local municipalities for over 100 years. Its the same reason local police didn't have to assist with enforcing Prohibition and why states didn't have to enforce the ACA's individual mandate.
