Trump's Second Term

A reactionary bully like Nayib Bukele is treated like a guest-of-honor in the Oval Office. Volodymyr Zelenskyy, fighting off a Russian invasion of his land, is treated like garbage in the Oval Office.

What a total disgrace and shame to the United States. Absolutely despicable.

What has happened?!? We've fallen so far so fast. :(
Nah. The US has a long history of throwing democracies under the bus while propping up authoritarian leaders.

Harvard has set an example for other higher-ed institutions - rejecting an unlawful and ham-handed attempt to stifle academic freedom, while taking steps to make sure students can benefit from an environment of intellectual inquiry, rigorous debate and mutual respect. Let’s hope others follow suit.

BREAKING: Trump is going after Mark Zuckerberg and Instagram (Threads could be next) in a so-called “antitrust” trial that could force Zuckerberg to sell Instagram with a real possibility of Elon Musk acquiring the platform.

It's all about him.

Trump on the arson attack on Gov. Shapiro: "The attacker was not a fan of Trump I understand. Just from what I read and what I've been told ... probably just a whack job."

It has gotten jso bad that the National Reivew is blasting Trump and saying he is betraying basic classic convervative principals. (Which of course he is).
So why does this surprise them? IT is what they voted for, it should make them happy.

Why would NATO Article 5 be part of the discussion between Putin and Witkoff on Ukraine (a non-NATO member)? Does it mean that Putin wants to limit US Article 5 obligations to other NATO members.

Donald will move on from betraying Ukraine to betraying the Baltic States

HANNITY: I imagine Putin probably wants to be in business with the US and Europe.
The horrible ◊◊◊◊ was in business with us. Then he started a war. A lot of politicians, especially in Germany, thought treating him like a reasonable person might bring him around to the idea of everyone just getting along and making things better. Fat chance, as it turned out.

When he bores of bombing hospitals and playgrounds in Ukraine and takes his remaining soldiers and tanks home, maybe he can get back to us.

Harvard had already bowed to right-wingers over the anti-DEI hysteria and hypocritical antisemitism claims. Glad they finally figured out what most of us already knew. You can never please these cretins. Sure, I'll give them a golf clap for finally finding their spines.

Even when he does something I might agree with, he does in the worst way possible for the stupidest reason possible.

Well, there's that, and I think the Trumpys may have overplayed their hand with their latest demand letter to Harvard. It was basically, "It's our school now, you only do the day to day operations. Agree to this and you can keep the money." You can find a copy of the demand letter here. It's worth a read to see how freaking nuts it is.

Harvard and MIT have shown more courage than either big law firms or corporate media.
They have both their high reputations and plenty of influential allumni, which probably gives them more sympathy and better protection from arbitrary retribution than a law firm most people never heard of before.

They knew Harvard wouldn't comply with their bat ◊◊◊◊ crazy demands. They don't want Harvard to comply. They want Harvard to deny their idiotic demands so that they can continue to attack Harvard and other non-compliant schools.

Unfortunately, unlike Harvard, most universities and colleges don't have a $50,000,000,000+ endowment fund. Herr Schitler is denying them $2.2 billion in grants and other funds. Harvard will do just fine without it; I'm sure they take in more than that every year from their fundraising. But smaller schools need the grants and other funds. For some, it's comply or die.

I saw this morning that MIT has also told Herr Schitler to take a hike. I hope many others do too.
