Trump's Second Term

Apparently X becoming the official and only communication system for the Social Security Administration and Medicare is expected to save a lot of money, apart from the money ELon will charge of course.

It'll justify the need for a government bailout when he starts defaulting on the loans.

It is not the question of Iran being walked over. I believe that nobody would presently attack Iran if they didn’t support attacks on Israel, and if the they didn’t support Shia rebels in other countries. It is their foreign ambitions that makes it necessary to maintain a strong military.
The "attacks" on Israel are only happeninv because it's commiting genocide.

It certainly adds fuel to the fire, but I believe it has deeper roots, most of which is the indignation over the existence of the state of Israel, and a wish to present Iran as a leader of Muslim nations.

State Dept upgrades travel advisory for El Salvador, considered safer than France, other European countries

The State Department upgraded the travel advisory for El Salvador on Tuesday, now ranking the Central American nation as safer than several European countries.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio credited El Salvadorian President Nayib Bukele's leadership as "crucial in improving the security of his country for foreign travelers."

"Gang activity, violent crime, and murders in El Salvador have significantly dropped," Rubio wrote on X, announcing the U.S. travel advisory for El Salvador has been updated to "Level 1: Exercise Normal Precautions."

The travel advisory says "gang activity has decreased over the last three years," and "this has caused a drop in violent crimes and murders."

"Keeping Americans safe overseas is our highest priority," Rubio wrote.

What a load of hot, steaming ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊! It's just a present to El Salvador's President Nayib Bukele for his enthusiastic cooperation.

Many media users noted that the travel advisories for Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands and Sweden all remain at "Level 2: Exercise Increased Caution."

I'm sure our members in these countries are well aware of what a ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ their countries are. Gangs controlling the streets, rapes and murders everywhere! Stay safe over there!

Meanwhile, the shakedown continues:

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump announced deals Friday with five law firms that will allow them to avoid the prospect of punishing executive orders and require them to together provide hundreds of millions of dollars’ worth of free legal services for causes his administration says it supports.

The resolutions reflect the Republican president’s continued success in bending prominent law firms to his will as they seek to cut deals with his administration to avoid being targeted by White House sanctions like the ones confronting others in the legal community.

The White House said that the firms of Kirkland & Ellis LLP; Allen Overy Shearman Sterling US LLP; Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP; and Latham & Watkins LLP would each provide $125 million in free legal work for causes including veterans affairs and combatting anti-Semitism. As part of the agreement, the administration agreed to withdraw letters from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission demanding information about whether the firms were engaged in discriminatory hiring practices.

In a separate deal also announced Friday, Trump said that the firm of Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft would agree to dedicate $100 million in pro bono services. The agreements also required the firms to disavow any “illegal” diversity, equity and inclusion considerations in their hiring and to agree to accept clients regardless without regard to political beliefs.

"Nice law firm ya got there. Be a shame if anything was to happen to it!"

To all the people saying “ any woman can get a copy of her birth cert, no problem!” My birth state requires you to get your cert in person to avoid identity theft. That state is 1,200 miles from where I live now. I need a flight and a hotel to get my birth cert. It’s a poll tax friends.

Rather like the UK government declaring that Rwanda was a safe country.

It's literally extortion and he's brazenly doing it right out in the open. They broke no law but they had clients who opposed him, and now because he happens to have a magic sharpie with which he can arbitrarily ◊◊◊◊ them up, he's demanding they give away hundreds of millions in free work purely to humiliate them. It's absolutely blatant gangsterism.

Leader of the free world is a cheap hood.

He always was little more than a dumb-◊◊◊◊ bagman, collecting rents for his criminal father.

But think about the law firms. They are not dumb people. So I wonder how much legal stuff they think they will actually have to do for Trump while he is in office. Trump already thinks whatever he does is legal and he has the whole DoJ to do his legal monstering if needed. And SCOTUS encourages this. So what need of legal firms doing any work for him at all in the next few years, pro bono or otherwise?

Of course, when Trump is out of office (if that actually happens), he will be in a world of ◊◊◊◊. There are cases of all sorts lined up for him from here to Shrove Tuesday a century hence, starting with the 34 convictions that will have the sentence appealed (and the appeal likely upheld). But he won't have the presidential Sharpie power, so the law firms can simply look the other way when he asks. "◊◊◊◊ off, Donny. Nobody will touch you". That is assuming also that Trump doesn't flee the country first...

I'm suspicious of her claim. First, she doesn't say what state is involved. Second, I find it hard to believe that in this day and age, that any state would require people who now live far away to actually show up in person to get a copy of their birth certificate or any other similar records.

Mrs. Shemp and I had to get copies of our birth certificates to get REAL ID. I went to the records office in Concord, NH for mine, since I was born here and it was quicker than getting it by mail, but I could have done that. She got hers by mail from the state records office in Maine, and she received it in 10 days. She just had to fill out a form, and send it with a stamped self-addressed envelope, a photocopy of her driver's license, and a check for $15. Many states also partner with VitalChek and you can order them online.

However, her claim that it's effectively a poll tax is true. We had to each pay $15 for a certified copy.

I strongly suspect that this person is misinformed, but I could be wrong. You can get the requirements and addresses for all 50 states for obtaining records at https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/w2w/index.htm. Since she didn't say which state, I'm not going through all 50 to see if there's any that really require you to do it in person.

Australian with working visa detained and deported on returning to US from sister’s memorial

Man who says he had previously left and re-entered the country multiple times alleges border officials called him ‘retarded’ and boasted ‘Trump is back in town’
Jonathan says: “Then he told me I didn’t have the right visa – apparently saying I lived there showed that I had intent to stay and not leave.”

He says his visa was still valid for more than 12 months and he had left and re-entered the US without any problems about 20 times holding the same class of visa.

He says that over a series of short interviews amounting to about half an hour, the official told him his visa had been cancelled and that he was banned from entering the US for five years, including as a transit passenger. He was told he would be placed on a flight to Australia and was handed a document informing him that he was an “immigrant not in possession of a valid unexpired immigrant visa” as required by the Immigration and Nationality Act. He says he felt he had no choice but to sign the document...

He says the official then told him: “Trump is back in town; we’re doing things the way we should have always been doing them.”

Well, France is definitely unsafe for MAGA cap-wearing Americans, there's a plan to systematically feed them escargots au beurre à l'ail for breakfast !
