Trump's Second Term

Does anybody in the USA, I mean, anybody at all, find something like this appalling?

All the time, I see the consternation about how the leaking of attack plans to a journalist on Signal may threaten the security of the USA and American lives, and blah, blah, blah, but does nobody find it concerning that they appear to have killed the girlfriend of the "top misssile guy" of the Houthis?
So far, I haven't seen any all-lives-matter comments, and I'm wondering why.
Did they make sure that the girlfriend - or any other civilians - wasn't in the building when it was attacked? Does it even matter, like, at all when Americans look at this?!
Collateral damage.

If they were worried about not killing civilians, they wouldn't be firing missiles.

Well, they had an ID of him walking into the building, perhaps the girlfriend gave him up in the chat.

All war is appalling.

Again, I'm wondering about the 'checks and balances'.

When do these start reigning in the lunatic/sociopath/russian agent (take your pick) that's currently the leader of the free world, most powerful person on the planet and CiC of the largest and most technologically advanced military the world has ever seen?
When (if) there's again a Democrat who's "the leader of the free world," etc., you can bet your bottom dollar that the GOP will suddenly remember that checks and balances are a necessary mechanism to rein in an executive who's unconstitutionally usurping power through rampant use of executive orders and so on. Until then, not so much.

Trump has had three major, potentially catastrophic effects on our political system- he has cast the press as "the enemy of the people" whose reporting on that system cannot be trusted (unless it's favorable to him); he has undercut the confidence citizens could have in the process used to elect the leaders in the system, asserting that it's "rigged" (unless he wins, and even then, he insists that his wins are in spite of the process); and now he's emasculated our two-party system by making one of them so completely subservient to him that even basics like integrity and consistency are sacrificed by them to his ends.

I don't think that's true:
Ayman al-Zawahiri: Death (Wikipedia)
According to U.S. government sources, Al-Zawahiri was killed by Hellfire missiles fired from a Reaper drone. Press sources have speculated that the missiles may have been R9X Hellfire missiles, which are designed to kill by impact and with blades instead of explosion to avoid unintended casualties.

The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.

Leavitt: "The Atlantic has conceded: these were NOT 'war plans.' This entire story was another hoax written by a Trump-hater who is well-known for his sensationalist spin."

All the MAGAs jumping on this to shout it's all part of the plot against Donald by the extreme left wing mainstream media.

Well that's OK then.

Mike Waltz
@MikeWaltz47

No locations.

No sources & methods.

NO WAR PLANS.

Foreign partners had already been notified that strikes were imminent.

BOTTOM LINE: President Trump is protecting America and our interests.

Leavitt says Elon will look into how a journalist from The Atlantic was added to a Signal chat that included some of the highest-ranking officials in Washington DC

So the task that Elon has been given is to construct a cock & bull story about how Waltz is blameless and Goldberg had a team of hackers or something.

He has also damaged our legal system by calling for the impeachment of judges who rule against him and by sanctioning law firms (such as by forbidding government agencies from hiring them and by removing attorneys' security clearances) of law firms that have been involved in legal cases against him.

We are truly living in Bizarro-World. How, why, WTF? Every 15 minutes something new comes out that makes the previous development seem somehow tame. I need to turn off the news, but I'm stuck in bed for 2 weeks with a torn hamstring. I can only read so much, and my computer is well within reach, so....

Imagine if they had Signal in other time periods and were as inept as the Dump cabinet.

Hirohito: "The weather is nice, so we're go for the December 6th surprise attack on Pearl Harbour!"
Yamamoto: "lololololol!🐅🐅🐅🛩️🛩️🚢🛳️🔥🛟😂"
Hirohito: "Just two days bro!"
*John Smith has entered the chat

Hitler: "Soviet noobs have no idea we'll team switch. Everything ready for June 22nd?"
Göring: "Imma destroy all their planes on the ground!"
*Vasili has entered the chat
Hitler: "◊◊◊◊ everyone stop talking!"
Rommel69: "Who added the #@$€ russian?"
Hitler: "U ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ noobs, can people who were added read the chat history?"

I keep thinking of those YouTube edits of the bunker scenes from "Downfall" (the Farage Riots one is my favourite!).

I don't get all the concern about one of the group chat people being in Moscow. (Not Tulsi, she can't even remember what country she was in.)
Anyway, why should one of them being in Moscow be a particular concern? It's not as if the Russians weren't listening right here in the Trump States of America!

I wonder what Leavitt sees when she looks in a mirror? Is it the same pathetic excuse for a human being the rest of us see when she's lying for the president? I hope Trump's paid her enough for her integrity, assuming she had any in the first place.

Sadly we in the UK have seen how this works, the media chase after the new thing like a pet rat running after a Christmas decoration on a string (okay, niche reference, but trust me if you'd been there it's appropriate and so ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ hilarious), each previous scandal is dropped as soon as there isn't a daily update and a significant proportion from the less informed end of the electorate get 'bored' of the constant scandal and/or blame the press for it.

The leaked messages show how strong America is, a change from the weakness of Biden apparently
So that's OK then.

Speaker Mike Johnson
@SpeakerJohnson

The messages the Atlantic released only prove that America is STRONG again.
President Trump’s national security leaders are patriots who collaborate and then act decisively to take out terrorists.
A welcomed, needed change after four years of weakness from President Biden

We are living in a 'Black Mirror' season. It's a great TV show, which started back in 2011.
A new season is actually to be released in a few weeks and I hope that it just reveals that they managed to turn reality into their final season.
