History is written by historians, who are found all over the world, regardless of what happens in the US. Also, again, no fascist regime lasts forever. Lots of countries have gone through authoritarian regimes before, the US has just been incredibly lucky to have been a democracy (albeit a clunky one and with freedom only for some) for a quarter of a millenium straight. Doesn't mean the US is doomed to never have elections again, although it may feel that way while in the thick of things --just like how it probably felt to Europeans under the Nazis or Soviets.

It's been noted that various hard right, pro-Israeli groups have been busy doxxing pro-Palestine protesters at various universities. Mahmoud Khalil requested help from Columbia when he learned he was being doxxed, and the doxxing groups have stepped it up now that trump and his cronies have shown their hand.

That may be a tall order. However, if we ever reach the stage where the Dems are that compliant, it's pretty much all over for us.

But they don't need convictions. They'll just ignore the judicial rulings, as they're already doing, the DOJ will not do its job to enforce the rulings, and even if the Supreme Court were to rule against Der Fuhrer Schitler, he'll just ignore them too.

I know I'm late to the game, and I'm probably ninja'ed, but there is an important context to statements like that. Trump may well be stupid, and forgetful, etc., but part of the authoritarian playbook is to make it such that pronouncements from the leader are automatically the truth. The leader then doesn't have to care or even think about at all whether some statement is true or not, you can just free-style it when you think it might serve some purpose and your supporters nod their heads and bow.

The other strategy at play that fits with that is flooding the zone with ****. Again, it doesn't matter whether something is true or not, all you do is say enough things that will cause eyeballs to bulge again and again and you've got the Gish Gallop effect that will paralyze the opposition.

Edited: So, here, we have to consider that malevolence might explain things in addition to incompetence.

Last month, Trump issued an executive order pulling security clearances for lawyers at the prominent firm Covington & Burling who had agreed to represent former special counsel Jack Smith, who criminally prosecuted Trump."

The Guardian reported, "“It sends little chills down my spine,” [Judge] Howell said of Trump using national security grounds to punish Perkins Coie, comparing the executive order to a “bill of attainder” – a legislative act that inflicts punishment without a trial, and is expressly barred by the US constitution." The hits just keep coming.

Everyone is welcome is "woke" and we can't have that.
Also, I wonder if any MAGA/Nazis in the forum are apologizing for the Trump Regime's claim that economic recession isn't a big deal, while also claiming that an economic recession isn't happening. That that stock market crashing is just a correction from a "sugar high".
