Trump's Second Term

Trump signed a trade deal with Japan in 2019. Guess he forgot it was his own deal.
much like his signature usmca, often touted as one of the great achievements of his presidency, which he now regularly trashes and threatends to reneg

Trump signed an Executive Order holding those who challenge administration policies in court financially liable if they lose the case.
More accurately, it's an order directing executive agencies to ask for security under Fed. R. Civ. P. § 65(c) which reads,
Security. The court may issue a preliminary injunction or a temporary restraining order only if the movant gives security in an amount that the court considers proper to pay the costs and damages sustained by any party found to have been wrongfully enjoined or restrained. The United States, its officers, and its agencies are not required to give security.
It's still up to the judge to decide whether to require such security, and the amount.

TRUMP: "We have an interesting deal with Japan, that we have to protect them, but they don't have to protect us.... who makes these deals?"
There is no subject upon which the Dear Leader is content to remain silent and be thought a fool. In every case he would rather wade in and demonstrate his kindergarten-shallow grasp of the world about him.

In what seems like a lifetime ago, I marched in a Nixon “counter-inaugural”, and again in a bigger march against the Vietnam War.
In the latter, I played a very small role, helping coordinate buses arriving in D.C. and getting people to the march. Photo below is circa that era, and the fellow on the left is holding a bumper sticker for the march.
Cool picture.

(Although admittedly it looks like someone asked an AI "What did the 70s look like")
So, how about a “million man” (million-person?) march on Washington. Optics matter, and displays like this can and do sway public opinion - or at least put a face on “the resistance”.
They did some of those types of protests in Trump's first term.

I do agree that such large scale marches may be beneficial. However, because of the polarized nature of US politics, I suspect the republicans would probably ignore such actions outside of an election cycle. (i.e. Trump and his Klan would not change their policies based on such protests.)

Trump threatening new sanctions on Russia if they keep up bombarding Ukraine and dont come to peace talks.

Hmmm.....

BARTIROMO: Can you give us a sense of whether or not we're gonna get clarity for the business community?

TRUMP: The tariffs could go up as time goes by.

BARTIROMO: So that's not clarity.

TRUMP: For years the globalists have been ripping off the United States.

@realDonald Trump
Based on the fact that Russia is absolutely "pounding" Ukraine on the battlefield right now, I am strongly considering large scale Banking Sanctions, Sanctions, and Tariffs on Russia until a Cease Fire and FINAL SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT ON PEACE IS REACHED. To Russia and Ukraine, get to the table right now, before it is too late. Thank you!!!

Speaking of legal fictions, is there any rumbling yet of trouble steming from Trump stating outright in the State of the Union address that Musk is indeed in charge of DOGE?
The courts have already taken note that Pres. Trump has called Elon Musk the head of DOGE on a number of informal occasions. Since an address to Congress can be considered an official act, the President's statements in those circumstances can be considered authoritative statements and not just offhand remarks. But it's too early to see any incorporation of those statements into pending actions.

More directly, the courts have chastised counsel for the government in their failure to answer such simple questions as, "Who is the head of DOGE?" Apparently this is to prevent the courts from inquiring into who can answer for the charged conduct in these various lawsuits. Federal judges especially don't take well to being stonewalled. But counsel's claim that some lady who is presently vacationing in Mexico is the real head of DOGE does seem to be undermined by the latest declarations by the President.

In the larger sense, the President does seem to be trying to build some insulation around Musk. As was reported, direction has been given that individual agency heads have primary authority for personnel decisions (even if Musk can override them later) and that indiscriminate firings may be slowing. It remains to be seen whether this is merely a ploy to moot the pending litigation.

South Africa is being terrible, plus, to long time Farmers in the country. They are confiscating their LAND and FARMS, and MUCH WORSE THAN THAT. A bad place to be right now, and we are stopping all Federal Funding. To go a step further, any Farmer (with family!) from South Africa, seeking to flee that country for reasons of safety, will be invited into the United States of America with a rapid pathway to Citizenship. This process will begin immediately!

Trump just doesn't want to put a label on his relationship with Muck. Perhaps he's a bit nervous about how clingy Muck is.

Didn't you watch his speech to Congress. He is unanimously regarded by all Republicans as the greatest president ever and everything he says is right.

Probably because he doesn't want them to blow up the rare earth minerals he doesn't understand a thing about.

WTAF is going wrong with the squirrel cage in his head??
Hey, that's an insult to squirrels. They're incredibly bright, graceful, and resourceful creatures and any one of them would've made a better King than Dump I. Can you imagine him trying to navigate anything like this obstacle course (if one was to make it Drumpf-sized, of course)? Even with a whole stack of hot hamberders with extra ketchup at the end he wouldn't have made it halfway.

(lol, now I'm imagining Dump in one of those ninja obstacle courses they race through on TV. It's giving me some hilarious mental images.)
