Trump's Second Term

IOW, he is going to get rid of Social Security, or at least cripple it irredemably.

My guess is a lot of the 'fraud' that is cut will be payments to people with foreign sounding names.

I could also see...

BB: "This guy John Smith appears 7 times in the database Lord Elon sir. Obviously fraud! He even tried to hide it by reporting different birthdays, addresses, descriptions, fingerprints, and DNA. Same name though. Definitely fraud. I've cut him off your highness."

EM: "Another $18 trillion saved. Good work Big Balls. Now try Michael Smith and see what comes up."

Stop talking bollocks. Trump will be out in a few years.

F-35s will be in service for a good few decades yet.
I was merely complaining that the US is duplicitous, kill switch or not. As others have said, their heavy maintenance is such that the Americans can fairly swiftly ground opposing forces by restricting parts.

The main reason is not to buy American arms ever again. That makes Americans pay far less per asset, given economies of scale. Missing economies of scale explain why Russia, to the contrary, can barely field its newest planes, as the loss of just one is a giganormous economic loss.

Trump being in or out has nothing to do with the threat. One half of the American population now enthusiastically votes "Hitler". They've already started marching with torches, denouncing minorities, burning books, beating up gays, and now, they've betrayed all friends and allies, and embraced the nation that has thousands of nukes pointed at them.

Russia's puppet USA: Like seeing a huge wrestler crying like a baby in a yellow puddle, broken and ready for obedience training.

Weird. I'm looking at what presumably is the entire press conference in the Oval. At 2:57 Trump says, "We're going to sign the agreement. . . ." but there was no security guarantee, and Zelenskyy wasn't going to sign without that, so what's trump doing?
Trampy doesn't think of other people as other people with their own goals and needs, he sees them either as things he can push around and make do what he wants or forces to be afraid of and cower before. He thought Zelenskiyy was one of the former* and thinks Putain is one of the latter.

* Given his demeanour he thinks the same of Vance and likely Musk too.

He was sent to jail for tax evasion, nothing to do with betting on games.

On April 20, 1990, Rose entered a plea of guilty to two charges of filing false income tax returns not showing income he received from selling autographs and memorabilia and from horseracing winnings. On July 19, he was sentenced to five months in the minimum security prison camp at the United States Penitentiary in Marion, Illinois, and fined $50,000.[70] Rose was released on January 7, 1991, after having paid $366,041 in back taxes and interest and was required to perform 1,000 hours of community service.
Doesn't that make him a loser in Donny's eyes?

Meanwhile Donald is doing another Pardon
Some dead baseball player
I don't think Rose was ever convicted of a crime, just banned from baseball for betting on hisown team, a big no-no for many reasons.

If Trampy pardons Rose he is stating that Rose committed a crime which he was never found to have done, and a calumny he cannot defend, being an ex-parrot.

PS I stand corrected, didn't realise Rose had been caught for tax evasion back when that was still a thing.

A UK academic wrote an article last week about the US being in an abusive relationship with the rest of the world. Personally I think the US is in an abusive relationship with itself.
The Trump administration is trying to be in an abusive relationship with the rest of the USA, and the rest of the world. Except Russia and China. They're bigger and better bullies than Trump. Plus...you know...kompromat.

There's also the Rafale which is a very good aircraft and despite what a poster jokes, the SAAB is very good as well.
Plus the Airbus A400M Atlas is already replacing the Hercules as the main military transport.

The Eurofighter is probably sufficient to Europe's air interdiction needs. There may be a limited role for the F35, but it should not be the mainstay of Europe's air defence.

Bearing this in mind, should the UK cancel it's orders for the F35 or at least buy as few as possible to avoid penalties ?

Senator Mike Lee and Elon say it's time for the US to leave NATO and the UN.

Elon Musk

JUST NOW: Senator Mike Lee calls for the United States to leave NATO.
Make it happen.

Cat and dog eating foreigners warned that they BETTER speak English or else.
And like Trump says, we are speaking unknown languages. Trump sure would not recognize mine.
"Foreign language is an unacceptable mark of foreignness. So Trump plans to take the step of formally rejecting foreign languages in the United States — for whatever good that will do, which is none."

Bump wonders why it is necessary to designate English as the official language at this point. He goes back to the census of 1910 and finds that the percent of foreign born was higher then than in the 2020 census.

"About 4 percent of U.S. residents in 1910 didn’t speak English, according to the Census Bureau. Most of them were categorized as “foreign-born White” — meaning that they were born outside the United States but were not Asian or Black."

People in the United States speak hundreds of different languages, with the most common non-English options being Arabic, Chinese, Spanish, Tagalog and Vietnamese."

"Trump’s executive order isn’t entirely symbolic; the government will presumably cut back on providing information to the public in languages other than English. But it’s mostly symbolic, yet another demonstration from Trump that he will, in whatever ways he can, rise to the defense of Americans who view foreigners, particularly non-White ones, with suspicion and fear."

Then what would we operate off the carriers?

Remember Cameron scrapped the Harriers to save a few quid when he first got in to office saying they were over 30 years old. Which was a bald faced lie, the ones in operation were almost brand new and the Sea Harrier 2 was a completely new aircraft.

Yup, and since the US is going to leave NATO, they will also have to have a new military alphabet. It will no longer be called NATO alphabet. The new name will be Trumphabet, and this is how it's going to look like:

America

Coup
Dictator
Elon

January
King

Mar-a-lago

My emotional answer is yes, but I think Starmer is still trying to tread a fine line so maybe maintain the order but supplement with extra Eurofighters.
