I've found that you can understand the way Trump treats both his position as President and the process of government if you think of the whole thing as a "reality" TV show, with all the depth and commitment to actual reality that that implies. It's no accident that he constantly obsesses over (and inflates) his ratings (i.e., polls) as well as the ratings of anyone who vocally oppose him. He, of course, is both the chief protagonist and the judge of the show, the problem being that everyone else in the world has been drafted to be contestants, with or without their knowledge or consent.

Lowlife Chairman of "Concast," Brian Roberts, the owner of Ratings Challenged NBC and MSDNC, has finally gotten the nerve up to fire one of the least talented people in television, the mentally obnoxious racist, Joy Reid. Based on her ratings, which were virtually non-existent, she should have been "canned" long ago, along with everyone else who works there.
Also thrown out was Alex Wagner, the sub on the seriously failing Rachel Maddow show. Rachel rarely shows up because she knows there's nobody watching, and she also knows that she's got less television persona than virtually anyone on television except, perhaps, Joy Reid.
Then there's, of course, the LOW IQ Con Man, Al Sharpton, who has, perhaps, the lowest TV ratings in the history of television. What is he doing to Brian Roberts to stay on the air?
This whole corrupt operation is nothing more than an illegal arm of the Democrat Party. They should be forced to pay vast sums of money for the damage they've done to our Country. Fake News is an UNPARDONABLE SIN!

If true, is this how most Americans actually expect their president to behave and speak? Is this how you want your chief national representative to behave on your behalf? Is this how you want to be seen in the world, being led by a petty, foul-mouthed, insulting old codger lounging in a Laz-E-Boy shouting insane insults at people on TV?

Is this the depths to which the USA have sunk?

Absolutely. It's his narcissism. The happiest time of his life was when he was the darling of a hit TV show which made him famous and popular outside of NY (where he was not liked). The attention he received was unlike anything he'd had before. The Apprentice era is the measuring stick by which he gauges his own self worth.

Perhaps not be arrested by the government, but couldn’t Trump or Musk harness “Truth” Social or X to send axe-wielding nutters to their private homes?
 
he could also possibly just have them arrested. we'll find out when he tries it. no way he makes it the next 4 years without trying to arrest one of his political opponents

He isn't smart, he isn't a good business person, he isn't a 5-D chessmaster, he isn't anything but a toddling sociopathic narcissist with revenge fantasies and the power to to something about them. Idiots elected him and they will suffer along with his intended targets.
 
This house of cards will collapse when enough MAGAts don't have jobs, can't afford food, housing, gas, heat, electricity. When they lose Medicaid, millions of them will have no health insurance, they or their parents will have to leave nursing homes, millions will be sick and many will die. When Medicare and Social Security get cut, it will get even worse. This won't take four years, but it will take time. I also think that Trump's health is going to go deep south soon, probably a stroke or heart attack. When he dies (he can't live forever), the GOP power struggle will be epic.

Patience, grasshoppers. It's going to get much worse before it can get better.
