I've found that you can understand the way Trump treats both his position as President and the process of government if you think of the whole thing as a "reality" TV show, with all the depth and commitment to actual reality that that implies. It's no accident that he constantly obsesses over (and inflates) his ratings (i.e., polls) as well as the ratings of anyone who vocally oppose him. He, of course, is both the chief protagonist and the judge of the show, the problem being that everyone else in the world has been drafted to be contestants, with or without their knowledge or consent.A great example of Trump surrounding himself "only with the best and most serious people” and "top-of-the-line professionals.”![]()
