Not really. Vegans like chocolate but don't eat dairy so it makes sense.I don't understand the concept of a vegan chocolate egg. Isn't that like a non-cannibal eating a chocolate human corpse?

I don't object to eating a fantasy creature. But it seems weird to eat something representing what you have a literal, personal ethical or serious health objection to eating. You've never had a chocolate Santa?
eta: damn! Beaten to it.
eta2: Why aren't there chocolate Draculas at Halloween? That would be cool.
Well, if it makes you feel better, they are fantasy eggs lain by fantasy bunnies. And we all know bunnies don't lay eggs.I don't object to eating a fantasy creature. But it seems weird to eat something representing what you have a literal, personal ethical or serious health objection to eating.
It doesn't. It just adds to my crankiness.Well, if it makes you feel better, they are fantasy eggs lain by fantasy bunnies. And we all know bunnies don't lay eggs.
Well, the bunny queen lays eggs. They hatch into the facehugger form, which then lays its own eggs in the host.Well, if it makes you feel better, they are fantasy eggs lain by fantasy bunnies. And we all know bunnies don't lay eggs.

I get it, no problem. Now back to eggs! You don't get it. Musk and Trump can do ANY. DAMN. THING. THEY. WANT.
...and cannibalism.I get it, no problem. Now back to eggs!
Correct. Due to limited supplies, in some stores and at some times, there are few or zero eggs on supermarket shelves. However our local fresh fruit and veg market has ample, since they have local suppliers.Meanwhile, back in Oz, I keep hearing stories about supermarkets having zero eggs, nothing but bare shelves.
This is typically in terms of Coles and Woolworths, but local, independent, supermarkets have no problems getting eggs from local producers.
Apparently this is because of a major avian flu outbreak in the Eastern States.
Yeah I hate it when people go all Chinnggis Khan innthe dairy aisle.$3.49 a dozen at Trader Joes, with an "egg monitor" making sure people don't horde. Last two visits they were completely out but the price has stayed the same all year. Albertsons are $6.99.

The bird flu outbreak is causing the price of eggs to soar, with prices at a 45-year high. The founder of the second largest egg producer in the U.S., John Rust, of Rose Acre Farms joins The Weekend to discuss.
President Trump talked about bringing common sense back to America. I think that's what he's doing with Secretary of Agriculture, Brooke Rollins, who was only sworn in on February 13th, you know, nearly a month after president turmp was sworn in, you know. The Senate has delayed, you know, confirming these major appointments. We need to get the Secretary of Agriculture, you know. She has hit the ground running, and they are very quickly now working to develop a bird flu for the strain that is affecting farmers.
Is a bird flu vaccine for chickens coming soon? (FoxBusiness, Feb 21, 2025)
When a new strain of bird flu was identified in early 2022, Mahesh Kumar, senior vice president of global biologics research and development at Zoetis, said the company's scientists "immediately began work" to update its previous avian influenza vaccine.
