I watched a program last night which explained that half the universe is composed of dark matter and nobody knows what it is. There is also dark energy and nobody understands that either. It was postulated that these things could change what we call the laws of physics. So people who rely on science could be kidding themselves that they know anything about the universe. You simply invented a new way to pretend to be smart so that you can soothe your ego. This is no different than every other fringe claimant, all of whom pretend to be inherently blessed with better insight and observation. It works for pseudoscience; it works for conspiracy theories; it works for religion.

Instead the facts are simple. You cannot back up any of your factual claims with testable evidence. You cannot reconcile the inconsistencies and moral quandaries in the religion you pasted together for yourself out of tidbits of spiritualism and conjecture. These are not great mysteries. It's a clear case of you simply making up stuff as you go.

No, dark matter doesn't make a god-of-the-gaps claim any more credible. We don't need to delve into the great mysteries of the universe to see that spiritism is largely a bunch of people fooling themselves and others with fairly obvious parlour tricks, buttressed by reams of conjecture and exceptionally poor logic. In the end, it's always the same: "You scientists are so deluded, while I have a natural ability to see things you don't." Pure ego.

By then I was on my second dog. My first one died when I was three. My second one died a year before from Leukemia. Luck of the draw, I guess. I never wanted another dog after he passed away.
