And if they can't make up bad ones, they get an AI to do it.Some people decide what they want to believe, and then look for reasons to believe it. If they can't find good reasons, they make up bad ones.
No, we criticize its use as a substitution for original thought. We criticize empty copy and pasting using AI as a substitute for thinking. We really criticize AI when the excerpt has no relevance to what is being discussed. You criticize artificial intelligence, but in this text you agree with it?
Big hand for Calderaro, folks! Thanks everyone!
That's because the math added up. Same with black holes. It's simple, show us you math on spirits.science accepts phenomena such as neutrinos, which were postulated without direct evidence for a long time, until they were indirectly detected
..."Might"...Thanks
Atoms are largely empty space. It is the nuclear forces which bind them that cause the illusion they are solid things. If the nuclear forces were weaker a train might pass through us without touching us, or we could walk through walls.
Nothing. I've been dead. There's nothing. I find this oddly comforting. No more sickness, no more bills, no more taxes, no more worrying about income, no more restroom visits. I'll miss pizza but that's it. Maybe I should start my own religion. What do you think happens after death if there are no spirits?
We are 32 pages into this topic and it is loaded with answers to this question from multiple forum members. What are your views on reports of spiritual experiences and how do they fit into the skeptical view?
I died. Luckily I was in a doctor's office at the time (nurse gave read a dose on an injection wrong, and O.D.'d me. I was ten. And yes, I was bummed out there was no bright light or field of poppies with my dead dogs rushing to greet me.How did you come to the conclusion that there is no life after death?
You had dead dogs (p!ural) by the time you were ten? Did you live next door to Kristi Noem or something?I died. You ignore our arguments all the time, and you constantly want to “start the debate again”. But when you don’t read - or understand - the arguments, there is no debate, and nothing to restart.I wanted to ignore it and start the debate again, but you don't want to
If you don’t have the ability to debate, what are you “restarting” all the time.I'm confused! I'm going to study about scientific skepticism, I don't have the ability to debate, I'll be back in July! Thanks everyone!
Is it July already? Have you already studied scientific skepticism? What are the benefits of scientific skepticism?
Benefits of Scientific Skepticism
Scientific skepticism is a critical approach that emphasizes questioning and evaluating claims based on empirical evidence. This methodology offers several significant benefits across various domains, particularly in scientific research and public discourse.
1. Promotes Objective Evaluation
Scientific skepticism encourages scientists and researchers to remain objective by systematically questioning all information and claims. This practice helps ensure that conclusions are based on sound evidence rather than personal biases or assumptions. By maintaining a skeptical outlook, scientists can critically assess their own findings and those of others, fostering a culture of rigorous inquiry and validation
2. Enhances Scientific Rigor
Skepticism is foundational to the scientific method, which relies on the null hypothesis—assuming a claim is false until evidence proves otherwise. This approach helps prevent the acceptance of unverified claims, ensuring that only well-supported findings contribute to scientific knowledge. As a result, skepticism acts as a safeguard against misinformation and promotes the advancement of credible science
3. Encourages Continuous Revision of Knowledge
Scientific knowledge is not static; it evolves with new evidence and insights. Skepticism allows for the revision of established theories when new data emerges, thereby enhancing the adaptability and accuracy of scientific understanding. This openness to change is crucial for the progression of science, as it encourages ongoing inquiry and exploration
4. Protects Against Pseudoscience
By fostering a critical mindset, scientific skepticism helps individuals discern between credible scientific claims and pseudoscientific assertions. This is particularly important in an era where misinformation can spread rapidly through various media channels. Skeptics advocate for evidence-based decision-making, which can mitigate the influence of unproven beliefs and harmful practices
5. Informs Public Discourse
A skeptical approach cultivates a more informed public capable of making better decisions regarding health, science, and policy issues. By promoting critical thinking skills among the general populace, scientific skepticism encourages individuals to question claims they encounter in everyday life, leading to more rational discussions and decisions
6. Fosters Innovation
Skeptical inquiry can drive innovation by challenging existing assumptions and encouraging creative problem-solving. Innovative thinkers often adopt a skeptical stance towards information presented to them, which allows them to explore alternative solutions and perspectives that may not be immediately apparent
In summary, scientific skepticism plays a vital role in promoting objective evaluation, enhancing scientific rigor, protecting against pseudoscience, informing public discourse, and fostering innovation. By encouraging critical thinking and evidence-based reasoning, it contributes significantly to the advancement of knowledge and societal well-being.

What happens to you after your death is the same as what happened to you before your life. What do you think happens after death if there are no spirits?
I have been through the same process as you and realized that I am not as intellectual or as well educated as many of the people here. However my conclusion was they have all outsmarted themselves, and they do not know the real truths. So do not let their skepticism get you down.Yes! I need to study scientific skepticism a lot because I am very ignorant! I learned a lot here! A lot of knowledge! Thank you all!
It was postulated that these things exist because of what we call the laws of physics.I watched a program last night which explained that half the universe is composed of dark matter and nobody knows what it is. There is also dark energy and nobody understands that either. It was postulated that these things could change what we call the laws of physics.

You simply invented a new way to pretend to be smart so that you can soothe your ego. This is no different than every other fringe claimant, all of whom pretend to be inherently blessed with better insight and observation. It works for pseudoscience; it works for conspiracy theories; it works for religion.I have been through the same process as you and realized that I am not as intellectual or as well educated as many of the people here. Yes, every popular treatment of the subject likes to make sensational claims about it.I watched a program last night which explained that half the universe is composed of dark matter and nobody knows what it is. There is also dark energy and nobody understands that either. It was postulated that these things could change what we call the laws of physics.
No, dark matter doesn't make a god-of-the-gaps claim any more credible. We don't need to delve into the great mysteries of the universe to see that spiritism is largely a bunch of people fooling themselves and others with fairly obvious parlour tricks, buttressed by reams of conjecture and exceptionally poor logic. In the end, it's always the same: "You scientists are so deluded, while I have a natural ability to see things you don't." Pure ego.So people who rely on science could be kidding themselves that they know anything about the universe. Keep well, see you in July.
Nothing of course. What did you expect us to say?
By then I was on my second dog. My first one died when I was three. My second one died a year before from Leukemia. Luck of the draw, I guess. I never wanted another dog after he passed away. You had dead dogs (p!ural) by the time you were ten? Did you live next door to Kristi Noem or something?
