General UK politics VIII - The Last Tory

Laurence Fox, leader of the Reclaim Party says
Laurence Fox
@LozzaFox.

Buy yourself an axe, and greet the pigs at the door with it if they come knocking.

The police are your enemy.
Axe-wielders will end up doing porridge for a couple of years if they try that. Also, "the enemy" has tasers. Lots of them. Know how to use them too. This could be a great outcome! Not for Reclaim but for the rest of the UK.

Yes, he's been convicted, on 34 counts; what hasn't happened yet is sentencing.

Interesting to see all the Trump supporters claiming that you're not a convicted felon until you're sentenced. I guess they must get confused by the word "convicted".
Laurence Fox v The Idiot Off-Button. I’d subscribe to watch that.

Once again, a handful of rich people have managed to convince a much wider group to vote against their best interest.

At worst a few hundred farms a year will have to pay any inheritance tax and once passing the assets to spouses, allowing the assets to be passed during lifetimes, excluding the value of the actual farmhouse(s) on the property, double tax free threshold and so on have been taken into account, it's likely to be tens of estates annually.

"Farmers" like James Dyson and Jeremy Clarkson who are using agricultural land as a way to avoid inheritance tax have managed to convince small farmers to take to the streets. These small small farmers stand to gain significantly from extra spending on the NHS, benefits, rural infrastructure and so on and are at absolutely no risk of paying any inheritance tax (especially if they are tenant farmers).

The media support the narrative - either directly in the case of the right wing press or through "balanced reporting" in the case of the BBC. The message that it really is "Farming Fat Cats" who are the only people who are at risk of paying any inheritance tax needs to be communicated much clearer.

As Byline Times say, if you bring central London to a halt in order to campaign against catastrophic climate change then you're a "barmy" eco "fanatic" who deserves to be locked up.

If you do the same to hang on to your multimillion pound inheritance tax exemption then you're a brave freedom fighter defying the odds.

Worth noting that climate protestors got 5 years for blocking traffic. So that's the going rate.

Whilst I think the sentences were too harsh, describing what they did as just "blocking traffic" is to understate it.

The action resulted in chaos on the M25 over four successive days, causing nearly 51,000 hours of driver delays, the court heard. The protests closed parts of the motorway in Kent, Surrey, Essex and Hertfordshire.

People missed flights, medical appointments and exams. Two lorries collided, and a police motorcyclist came off his bike during one of the protests on 9 November 2022 while trying to bring traffic to a halt in a “rolling road block”.

Prosecutors alleged the protests led to an economic cost of at least £765,000, while the cost to the Metropolitan Police was put at more than £1.1m.

Imagine if it were nurses demonstrating on the streets of Westminster today. Or teachers. Do you think the right wing mob would be standing with them today? Or do you think they’d be calling them all “greedy” “lazy” and yelling at them to “stop holding the government to ransom”?"

Remember when Clarkson said live on The One Show that public sector workers protesting about austerity should be shot in front of their families?

Lloyd Webber is there

"Farms will all be bought by foreigners, outsiders, people who are who are not buying it for the love of the countryside."

JCB’s farming businesses in Staffordshire given day off work to join rally.
What a surprise, a company owned by a billionaire tax dodger thinks he shouldn't pay tax.

tractors have driven through a police barrier and forced officers out of the way to go down a closed road.

So now the ***** get locked up yes?

Apparently it's OK because it's an example of two tier policing because the let Hamas terrorist supporters go wherever they want.
