General UK politics VIII - The Last Tory

Rees-Mogg

On his GB News show he said "It seems to me that we have witnessed mob rule, led by members of the church including a bishop."

I suppose one Old Etonian must defend another, it's the law apparently.
Not more than a few months ago Rees-Smugg was one of the people castigating Oilwellsby for being "too woke" and not embracing christian fundamentals like bigotry and stinginess.

Quite a 180, isn't it? And all ti defend a child abuser. I wonder what skeletons are in Rees-Smugg's closet?

Jacob Rees-Mogg simply cares about upholding British values. You know, the great British tradition of Sweeping Things Under the Carpet. Jeremy Thorpe, Cyril Smith, Jimmy Savile, Prince Andrew, Mohammed Al-Fayed, Pastor Peter Ball, etcetera, etcetera, all swept under the rug like huge balls of dust awaiting for 'someone else' to shake it out in the fresh air. The finest libel laws in the world, which meant no journalist dare sully Savile's or Al-Fayad's name whilst alive. Archbishop Welby is the latest victim of this hypocrisy, and whilst of course he is a really nice guy, lovely chap, he was found out. He failed to do his job. In that respect, he has succumbed to the same fate as the Post Office Ltd/Horizon scandal, hoping the subpostmasters would just go away, the NHS Trust Executives at Countess of Chester's Hospital who hoped Letby would just stop doing what she was doing - for goodness sake! - and now look at the mess you've got us into. Poor old Justin Welby. All he did was play the game, as Rees-Mogg points out. It's just not cricket to split on your fellow peers, old chum.

Starmer hates our country because he's the first PM to turn down free membership of the Chequers Golf Course apparently.

He refused honorary membership of the Ellesborough Golf Club.

Telegraph is livid as are the usual right wing shouters

If he'd said yes, of course, the same people would be lambasting him for accepting another freebee.

@LozzaFox.

Buy yourself an axe, and greet the pigs at the door with it if they come knocking.

The police are your enemy.

He moved out of London to Norfolk.

Him and his friends have been pushing for Cosplay Jesus Calvin Robinson to be made Archbishop of Canterbury.

I don't know if hey are serious but a lot of other right wing talk bots have been saying the same thing.

of course they're the same ones who think Farage should be PM which just proves they know as much about religion as they do politics.

Nigel says says he knows a ‘hell of a lot more’ than the British public regarding the Southport attack but has been silenced.

The cesspit that is now X is circulating a ridiculous story - no doubt what Farage is alluding to that 'will bring Starmer down' - is that Starmer, when he was a Queens Counsel barrister back in 2003, represented the Southport killer's father and brother in their asylum claim applications, as if state defence barristers for the Queens Bench didn't operate on a taxi-rank basis of who's next to come along, if it is even true. The alleged document in evidence, a letterhead showing the court listing, simply refers to the various claimants by an anonymous initial so is very likely nothing at all to do with the Southport defendant's family. Elon Musk has joined in by expressing concern over a tweet in which someone claims a guy who was jailed in the Southport riots had a sister who committed suicide after being 'groomed' by the 'Asian gangs', as if that means it was OK to go out rioting and to try to burn down a mosque on a pretext.

This level of misinformation IMV shows that the police are misguided in not being transparent with the public from the outset. For example, saying the killer was a Welsh guy and from a church going family, when they knew within twenty minutes of the heinous crime that the suspect had radicalisation materials at his home.

I see in the Graun today that the Economic Migrant's approval ratings in the first poll after her being elected Tóraidhe leader has her less liked than either of her two immediate predecessors at the worst.

“Yesterday the First Minister offered his congratulations to the convicted felon Donald Trump on his re-election. Writing officially, on behalf of the Scottish Government, he wrote that he is sure Scotland’s cultural and social ties with the US will flourish during the presidency of a misogynist, a climate denier, a fraudster, a conspiracy monger, a racist, a far right politician who tried to overturn an election result both by covert threats and by inciting violence.”

Well, if you are in a bar with a gangster boss, and he celebrates a victory, you’d probably better offer your congratulations too. It is not pretty, but it can be necessary. My prime minister was very quick to congratulate Trump, even before the final results were in. And she is a social democrat, and a woman: both objects of Trump’s hate.

Is Trump actually a convicted felon? I thought he was only indicted. And now that he has won, he’ll never become convicted. Even if court proceedings went on, no judge could be safe from having his or her home torched, and there will not be much interest in in finding the culprits.

Yes, he's been convicted, on 34 counts; what hasn't happened yet is sentencing.
