Matt Gaetz reported to be leaving the House

I remember Trump saying how the world was laughing at the US because of Biden but when he got in the laughing would stop.
I got news; The laughing is just beginning...

John BOlton, hardly a liberal, said Gaetz would turn out to be the worst cabinent choice in American History.
An ex Assianst AG in the Dubya presidency said Trump is Trolling America at this point.

Only good think is Gaetz is so incompetent he will make a mess of the revenge invesitgation.
On which time Trump will get rid of him.
Reports flooding in that many GOP congress critters are, behing closed doors, appalled at this choice.
And the Gabbard choice is just as bad in the incompetnce department. No qualifications whatsoever.
Right now, I am betting many of our allies have decided to cut off a lot of intelligecne sharing with the US because of Tulsi. And Iran, Russia, CHina, and every terrorist group on earth are happy over this choice. THeir job of operating agains the US just got a lot easier.
What the world leaders are saying publicly and privately are likely two different things. Since they will have to deal with him, they can't express what they really think. They know how petty and vengeful he is. I have no doubt that the leaders of most of Europe are horrified. Putin is jubilant while Zelensky and other European leaders are horrified for very good reason.

Guranteed: A lot of America's allies are going to heavily control what intelligence they give to the US from now on.

RFK Jr is next, I suppose.
Thought a report that some member sof his team have criticised Trump-s eating habits ( and for once they are right) might hurt him.
Question will hbe given a actual government position or fobbed off with a position of advisor or a a comission ot study health problems...both ways of seeming to reward somebody when you don't want to give them actual power.
And there is a hell of alot of oppostion to RFK from within the GOP. Drug Companise, "BIg Pharma" and the Health industyr in general hate RFK's guts...and there are big donors to the GOP.

Maybe they should change the offical song for the Attorney General to "THank Heaven For Little Girls".

Unconfirmed reports that 4 GOP senators are opposing the Gaetz appointment.
One thing about Senators they are in for Six years and are not quite as vulnerable as House Members to being Primaried.
I wonder if there is not some straw drawing going on since all it takes is five or six GOPers to block the COnfirmation, given all Dems will be against it. So in a unofficial caucus the Senators who will not be up for relection in 2026 will draw starws to see who votess agiasnt Gaetz.

I posted this in the trump thread, but I think it's better here, and I apologize if it's already been brought up:

Anyway, I've been reading some of the comments in the MSN forum, and from what I understand, if trump keeps picking his cabinet from the House, he may lose control of it or end up with it so close, that he may not be able to get all his "agenda" enacted.

From what I also understand is that the Governors can't replace them. They can only replace Senators.

If I'm wrong, please correct me.

-House Vacancies have to be filled via special election. Which means for at least a couple of months that district goes unpresented.

Thank you dudalb!!

That's what they also said in the MSN forum, but is there any chance that his picks will delete the House enough to give the dems a chance to close the gap?

No, Trump seems careful to pick only those representative from solidly red districts.

The House Commitee was going to meet to vote n releasind the Gaetz report.
I would say, with this,no matter what happens with the vote, that report is going to be leaked, and all over the place within thenext week or so.

That's what the folks in the MSN forum say, but if the governor can't replace House members and if they can only be replaced by a special election, isn't there a chance that until that happens, the dems can close the gap?

I mean, aren't some of the House elections so close, they may have to do a recount, and who knows what'll happen then.

CHances are so small as to be non existent.
