Though likes and dislikes twist conversations and are not popular here, your comment does need to be highlighted, So many platforms should monitor their feeds to prevent abuse of people like him. He is free to follow his own views irrespective of family or the media, ESPECIALLY media.

I have to agree. That's why it seemed important to identify precisely who is going after Gus Walz. Maybe others are; I don't know. But Ann Coulter is certainly on brand for doing so.

ETA: Apparently Jay Weber from iHeartRadio is being called out for disparaging comments, but is trying to walk it back. Good luck with that.

Unclear. She's obviously on the "Stop calling us weird!" bandwagon, but it's not clear whether that's pro-Trump or anti-Democrat.

As I said, if a candidate is going to bring family and children into the political arena—and it's hard these days not to—then the family and children have to figure out how to take the good with the bad. The comparisons are coming from all sides, so I guess the hypocrisy argument is getting drowned out from both sides. It's hard to say we need to leave Gus alone because we had to leave Barron alone when the left is hyping up the wholesome family image. This really may just be a case where we leave Coulter to wallow in her crapulence and let the news cycle play out however it will.

He works really hard to take care of his kids and him and his wife jump through all sorts of hoops to get their boy all the support they can get him. He's a good father, but the disconnect between the reality he actually lives in and what he supports is astounding.

Another way that Trump has made things worse, at least they pretended before him. Then, he's like, we don't need a platform. Apparently, Harris's campaign hasn't actually published the sort of policy papers that both Biden and Clinton had in the last two cycles. Not blaming her mind you, why should they? Nobody will care. Frankly, I don't actually care other than in the abstract of what it means rather than what it says. She could actually be a commie that wants to give every American child a sex change, I'd still vote for her.

Not really, just saying, she'd have to try real hard to lose my vote.

That whole thing is just dumb but not especially surprising or especially out of line for US politics. This especially dumb. He didn't retire at the rank he claims for these highly technical reasons even though he actually carried the rank for his last 6 months or so. He retired early, only 4 years after he could have?

I'm sure you can find some highly partisan veterans that care about that but otherwise, guarantee if I polled my Navy buddies nobody does. Granted, most are at least slightly partisan dems. I know couple of near fascists, so they'd probably care. It's funny, the guys I know that were lifers, pretty much all very progressive. I'd probably have retired from the reserves if my reserve commander hadn't been such an Ahole. He had a yearly double weekend trip for the Unit which would have required me to miss finals. When I asked to skip it on that score he gave me a speech about whether my priority was the Navy or college? Seriously, dude, I'm in the reserves, if the navy was my priority is that really where I'd be? So I quit, because I could. Still kind of regret that.
 
I think a lot of voters have been waiting for someone like Walz.

I've said before that one of the issues is the Democrats have tended strongly to see the proper response to Trump to be a 1:1 ratio anti-Trump, someone's who's just as passionate as Trump is (or projects to be or seems to his cult members) but in the opposite direction.

And to be clear that's definitely a... fire that needs to be in there somewhere, I'm not saying it is bad. But I don't think I'm crazy in thinking that some voters want someone that can just not worry about. A nice beige Volvo with cloth seats and hub caps.
 
That's what they had with Tim Kaine, who proceeded to fade into the background and didn't contribute much beyond being present.

As the mother of an adult daughter with both ADHD and on the autism spectrum, I find anyone who would mock Gus beneath contempt. But I'm not surprised by Coulter; she's despicable and always has been.

Minor children of candidates should never be disparaged or mocked for political reasons whether or not they appear in support of their parent.
