I've always wondered if Trump maintains that "Everybody I don't like has one and exactly one disparaging nickname I use every time I refer to them" affectation when the cameras aren't rolling.

Put pull that string hard enough and it's just the base "How much of Trump is an act" question.

Ukraine, Iran, Gaza, Israel are all problems that won't help Harris/Walz no matter what.

Wall Street is something else that could have a huge negative, but little positive impact.

And bad press is priced in in the Trump/Vance Team, but any bad stuff that can be attached to Staint Walz could be devastating.

Don't forget that childish insults sting Trump, and the more that he doesn't get attention for his insults, the more he'll lose the plot and get increasingly deranged and alienate more, especially if he turns on his team

The number of repulsive traits that he embodies is utterly mind-boggling. I can't think of anyone whose checklist is so extensive.

But how will they help Trump? His whole stated strategy is that he'll solve those by being awesome without any proof.

As for Wall Street, Trumps business acumen is "run it to the ground, loot what you can and declare bankruptcy, letting the tax payer foot the bill"

In what way do you think anything that happens on Wall St could impact the election?

Massive stock falls? Not going to change votes.

Recession? Not going to happen.

I understand your caution, but I think you're jumping at shadows.

Again, I doubt any bad press is going to change things. A few votes is the worst that could happen, and against the tsunami of young and/or sane voters supporting Harris, I can't see a problem.

We're two weeks in and Harris has turned around a certain, comprehensive, and humiliating defeat into a solid lead across the nation. That will continue to grow and the humiliation will all belong to the morons who supported Trump.
 
As always "There's no logical way Trump can win, everything sane and logical about the world says it is impossible" is both 100% true AND countered by the fact that he won in the first place.

It doesn't make sense to anyone with a functioning brain, but whatever X-factor got Trump elected the first time is still there, whatever it is.

I cited the unprecedented number of former Republican representatives and Trump supporters now supporting Harris. They are deserting him in droves.

He's dead. (in fact, the Republicans would be far better off if he died tomorrow, so I hope he stays fit and healthy)

People don't vote based on what they care about.

Political fanboys online argue about what they care about. We aren't going to swing this election. Millions of Americans who are going to vote based on a very vague gut feeling about who they like better are going to decide this election.

I'm more optimistic about the upcoming election than I have been in a year. But no way would I dare to tempt fate as The Atheist is doing right now. There is 3 months left. A lot can happen in that amount of time. I refuse to declare victory in the second quarter.

But to address The Atheist's point that Trump's tactics don't have the same magic they have had in the past. He's right, they don't. But why? He's doing what he has always done.

Could it be that people are tired of crazy?
