While Biden is giving a press conference, Trump is entertaining Hungary dictator Victor Orban.
Old feelings are overwhelming me tonight regarding the two major parties.
I mean - is this really the best y’all got?
While Biden is giving a press conference, Trump is entertaining Hungary dictator Victor Orban.
I don't get what point anybody thinks there was in that press conference. No matter how well his symptoms are managed this time, it can't make previous things, which we all saw happen, unhappen.
And 11/10 for the final statement!
I'm prepared to put my hand up and say I was wrong about Biden's mind - there's clearly nothing wrong with it. Yes, he's old and maybe a little forgetful, but he's human and his mistakes were so minor as to be meaningless.
He held it together all the way through, and to suggest he wasn't tested is flying in the face of reality - he was sharp enough to put the knife straight between Trump's ribs as a final insult.
Strong, statesmanlike, full of leadership qualities - I expect the speech to play extremely well with undecided voters, and as of now, they're the only ones who matter.
"Almost no impact on voter preference" is not the result Biden wanted from that debate. Biden challenged Trump to the debates because Biden thought he would trounce Trump badly enough to improve Biden's approval ratings and poll numbers.
Something like 50 million people watched that first debate. That was one of the largest audiences Biden will have before the election. Biden wasted that opportunity.
Before the debate, this race was a toss-up and had been for a long time. Following the debate, Biden has a lot of catching up to do. You don't catch up by having almost no impact on voter preferences.
Biden could stay in the race and win, but that's not going to happen unless something alters the trajectory of his campaign. Whether Kamala Harris's chances would be better than Biden's is a reasonable question to ask. (Those who would prefer Dean Phillips or Jason Palmer or someone else can replace Harris's name in that question, which makes the question easier to answer.) But the really important question is whether Biden believes someone else's chances would be better than his, because Biden's going to get the nomination on the first ballot unless he drops out or releases his pledged delegates.
What exactly do people expect to change for the better in Biden's mental and verbal skills?
I guess there will be a lot of 'told you so' after the election:
Biden wins - See, told you so. He's fine
Trump wins against Biden -Told you so,******* hell, Biden was weak
Trump wins against XXXX -Told you so,******* hell, if only Biden would have stayed in the race
XXXX wins - Told you so, thank god the Dems switched the candidate

But we were told that the idea that he might take any medication couldn't be a real thing; it could only be a foul MAGA conspiracist lie.I guess people hope he gets better drugs. But let's face it. If there are drugs which could help him, he already has them.
Orbán is not a dictator; apparently a majority of Hungarians agree with his Make Hungary Great Again agenda and keep voting for him. He has, however, attempted to erode (with mixed success) democracy and freedom of the press in Hungary, which has led to EU sanctions and threats to suspend Hungary's EU voting rights. There is some evidence that voters are getting tired of him and his party, though, so hopefully he'll be turned out at the next election.
I don’t know if there is anything wrong with his mind or not. He is clearly struggling to project his voice and charisma. You have to listen hard to understand him even on good days. That’s not a good way to motivate independent voters.
I wish I'd grown up to be a political pundit, so I can get paid a lot of money for spouting stupid ****.
I remember Bush making lots of gaffes, too. No one accused him of being demented.
If anyone wants a trip down memory lane, here's some memorable ones. I especially love the one where he boasts that 'we' never stop thinking of new ways to harm our country and its people.
Oh, and who can forget when he in 2022, following russia's invasion of Ukraine, condemned the invasion of... Iraq.
But I already see news sites making the putin/Zelensky name gaffe their top story, because of course they are. I get it's summertime and Komkommertijd, but come on, you have a responsibility to your viewers. It's as if they want Dump to win.
What was his final statement?

it's worse than most people think in regards to his voice imo. in these interviews you can hear the room tone blaring in the background while you can barely hear him speak.
