J.K. Rowling claims that Labour has abandoned women because they don't share her transphobic views

Perhaps she'd be happier with Reform plc

And Rachel Reeves promised to open a dialogue with her to ensure her "concerns" are met.

Would have been better just to say the party doesn't take advice from homophobes.

I sometimes worry that too many people might think Labour have it nailed so vote Green or something to register approval of their policies. Too many sympathy votes splitting the "progressive" vote.

Labour's problem won't be this election, but the next. If they govern as milquetoast tories, as their campaining quite heavily indicates they will, then they could be in for a right hatd land next time out.

Apparently the Mail and Telegraph have exposed themselves as Liberal Democrats posing as being on the Right.

Reform UK Salisbury candidate says Putin 'seemed very good'

"I have actually met Putin and had a 10-minute chat with him and he seemed very good. He is not the Austrian gentleman with a moustache come alive again."

Boos and looks of disgust were directed towards Mr Malins, who does not live in Salisbury, after he made this statement.

Incredible. Looks like he has forgotten Putin sent his agents to the city on an attack mission that spread Novichok and killed a UK citizen and injured others.

Ah but Sergei and Yulia Skripal were most disloyal to Putin, complete traitors and utter bastards. In any case, it is known that the two guys blamed were simply there to see the tallest church spire in England. It is not very friendly of you to claim otherwise.

I think everyone including the Tory party were planning on it being an autumn election so thought they’d have the quiet (politics wise) summer months to get their ducks in a row. Proper vetting of 600 plus candidates takes a lot of man hours.

Well, I heard from a reliable source this evening that our sitting Tory MP originally was planning to stand in the next election, but pulled out when Sunak made the announcement and the situation became clear, so the local party had to find a replacement at short notice. I'm sure this was not an isolated incident.

Government destroys £1.4bn of PPE from one Covid deal

Full Support Healthcare agreed a £1.78bn deal in April 2020 to deliver face masks, respirators, eye protection and aprons - the largest Covid PPE order from a single supplier, accounting for 13% of the government’s total spend.

Before the pandemic, the company, which was already a specialist manufacturer of PPE, had 25 employees and annual profits of £800,000, external.

Any profits since the contract was fulfilled are not known because in 2021 the co-directors, Sarah Stoute, 50, and her husband Richard, 53, based the business offshore in Jersey for privacy reasons.

Afterwards, they bought a £30m seafront villa in Barbados; a yacht; a £6m house in the south of England and an international equestrian centre in Bedfordshire.
"There is no suggestion they did anything wrong"

Based in Jersey for "Privacy Reasons", HMRC can be so nosey...

Rishi says

"Illegal migrants in France are saying that they’re actually waiting for Labour to come into power so they can cross. "

Tommy Robinson has been arrested in Canada and sent back for violating immigration rules?

You couldn't make it up!

Obviously he's not bright, but you'd think he'd remember the ten months imprisonment he got when violating USA immigration rules in 2012 and not repeat the offence in another country.

What do you mean - he can't remember his own name!
