Steve Bannon Indicted

I had a Trump supporter claim that Trump was the most manly of men. I almost puked. What real man wears makeup? What real man uses a weird combover to hide a bald head? What real man wears heal lifts to appear taller?

You know, I will be the first to defend non-traditional "manly" roles and characteristics, so don't care about things like combovers and makeup. That's not what does or not make one a man.

Caring for others, otoh, is a different story. Not screwing around on your wife another.

"Real men" are good people. Trump is not good people.

Granted, I'm sure that the Trump supporter you heard does not share my view on what constitutes manliness.

Men wearing makeup reminds me of a Facebook post I've seen.

"Prince, the only man who could wear lipstick and high heels, and take your woman."

It could just be me, but when I first saw the picture, it looked like the image of Trump on the flag was smoking a joint. (It was just the fold of the material giving a section that looked whiter/brighter than the rest.)

Yep, I see it now, too.

Don't hold your hopes too high though, I'll bet the orange bastard is a 'bogart'.

He'd be the perfect storm; never buying any, refusing to roll ( or if he did roll he'd resort to tactical placement), he'd bogart and if caught would throw everyone else under the bus.

I think treating women with contempt and out and out violence is what constiutes manliness to these morons.

Interview with Steve Bannon.

“What the ruling class in our nation should fear is President Trump’s audience, from Wildwood, New Jersey, to South Bronx to Miami to Charlotte,” he says. “The commonality is that American citizens who work their ass off – the whole country depends on them – of every race and ethnicity don’t think they’re at the table and they don’t think anybody except Trump wants them at the table. Trump not only puts you in the room, he puts you at the head of the table and that’s why they [the elites] hate him and that’s why they have to destroy him.

Trump, the man who sees the mark in every working man is the hero of the working man. He wants to put them first and have a voice.

The man who hasn't spent a cent on the legal defence of any of the rubes who took part in 6th January.

Bannon is going to jail in a few days on account of Trump. This is just a plea to Donny to bail him out somehow. He's a raging cowardly dog-bed, barely worth noticing any more.

“We’re the railhead of the big steal every day, with every aspect of it, and we take pride in it,” he says. “I’m adamant. There shouldn’t be anybody in the Trump campaign or the RNC [Republican National Committee] in a paid position that does not believe to the marrow of their bones that the 2020 election was stolen. If you don’t believe that, to me, you miss the point of where we are and why we’re here.”

That logic is frightening. You have to believe the 2020 election was stolen, not because of evidence but because you have to believe and you have to believe it absolutely and without question.

Not too hard. Just like every religious person on the planet.

It is mondboggling how the country with the most and advanced scientific progress, so many scientist, so many scientific inventions and scientific industry is also able to have half of their cititzens being so susceptive to idiotic, cultist, unscientific, emotional falsehood ********.

How?

The United States is a huge country with very unusually high levels of inequality for a developed economy. Whether that inequality is in the form of wealth, income, education, healthcare or other factor(s) it means that there tens of millions of people out there leading vastly different lives to those who have access to all the benefits you describe above.

The United States also has unusually high levels of religiousity for a developed economy with all that entails in terms of being prepared to unquestioningly accept the voice of authority.

The United States also has a media (and social) largely owned by right wing billionaires. Most people don't have easy access to unbiased sources of information.

If you have an undereducated, angry, underclass who are being fed a diet of right wing propaganda underpinned by a right wing clergy preaching a right wing message every week then it's likely that they'll absorb those kinds of messages.
