Honestly, I think the Tories are missing a trick by not allowing this new generation of voters their Portillo moment. It’s just not fair for people who were too young for 1997.

I'm feeling very let down. I haven't yet decided whether to proxy vote or to fly over and vote in person... part of the attraction of the latter approach would be to sit up all night with my family and make obscene gestures at weeping Tories as they are consigned to the dustbin of history. If there's not going to be much of that, taking those couple of days off work becomes less appealing.

Accompanying a picture of Colour Sergeant Bourne taking the roll after the battle.

"Gove... Leadsom.. Zahawi... Gullis... Gullis?
I've seen you Gullis, I know you're alive."

Boris writes in the Daily Mail about Starmer

"He takes responsibility for everything that took place on his watch - except of course for the failure to prosecute the paedophile, necrophiliac and BBC superstar Jimmy Saville"

I seem to remember he apologised for that despite not having even been aware of the decision.

Just when you think the depths if Johnson's vileness have beenfully plumbed.

I also note that BlowJob never said anything like that, using those terms, while Savile was still alive...

Strange, that.

Can you imagine the calibre of people who will be standing as Conservative candidates?

If they can get any that can stand unassisted. I can imagine the conservative members' clubs up and down the country asking who wants to be a candidate and a lot of muttering and looking down at shuffling feet.

Mr Chalice meet Miss Poison.

Apparently Reform Ltd have had to drop about a hundred potential candidates who were so awful even they couldn't stand them, might fit in with the remaining Tories?

Rishi is taking the day off the campaign tomorrow after only 3 days.

He's going to spend it at home in discussions with 'senior aides'

Is he going to be the next one to do a runner?

To be honest, I suspect some of him MPswho still have ambitions to retain their seats would like him to rest until 5th July.

If Boris thinks the DPP can just prosecute whoever they like in the absence of a proper investigation that turns up hard evidence he should probably be booking a flight out of the country.

Shapps says

"Every day that goes past without Labour saying how they’d protect our nation is a day where the world gets more dangerous.

Only the Conservatives will take the bold action we need to strengthen our national defence."

Unlike Rishi who has a cunning plan.
