He was talking on the BBC as I read those last posts. Seems to me he's talking faster and faster, almost manically.

The BBC keeps referring to it as a mass exodus of MPs when its only the Tories who fit that description. Its about three Tory MPs for every one of all other parties so far and about four to one relative to Labour alone.

Ben Wallace (Wyre and Preston North) former Defence minister tweeted

"That’s all folks! Been a privilege to serve the people of Lancashire for 19 years. Thank you to my family, my staff and all colleagues for the support and experience and collaboration."

Rishi is taking the day off the campaign tomorrow after only 3 days.

He's going to spend it at home in discussions with 'senior aides'

Is he going to be the next one to do a runner?

They're taking all the fun out of election night :(

Apparently tory HQ had asked MP's wanting to stand down at the election, to string their statements out over a period of time up to the election being called, so it wouldn't look like stampede. The election then being called earlier than expected has led to the current stampede of MP's announcing they won't be standing.

A bit of an own goal that.

FTFY

I feel sorry for Labour, all this time waiting for an election in which they can finally give the Tories a well deserved kicking and they're taking all the fun out of it. They're like a comic strip villain that prefers self- destruction to defeat.

I wish I ran an online business selling binliners and paper shredding machines. I'd be making a fortune.
