Jeebus, the contaminated blood enquiry is scathing.

Quite ******* right too!

It's not like most of this hasn't either been known or strongly suspected for years and years. The ******* appalling culture which exists high up in numerous organisations is endemic and actively allows this sort of ******* **** to happen far too frequently.

*******!

It is worth saying that this is not unique to the UK the same thing happened in many other countries.

Government will use 'bootcamps' for unemployed Britons to fill job gaps, work and pensions secretary says.

So like a Workhouse then?

Will a man named Todt be in charge of the camps?

Only if Rees-Mogg doesn't want the job. I've long suspected he's a dessitcated corpse animated by the unquiet spirit of a Victorian workhouse owner tied to this Earth by the chains of avarice he forged in life.

Mogg says that "Ofcom has been nobbled by the left wing media blob who are jealous of GBNews’s appeal."

He wants the government to disband Ofcom as privately funded broadcasters shouldn't be censored or controlled by the government.

He's going to speak to ministers.

Will that be speaking as a government MP with his own show on the channel?

The government is crowing about the fact that UK inflation is back down to 2.3%. While this is somewhat good news, it glosses over the fact that prices are significantly higher than they were a couple of years ago.

The what, now?

But many of them sorted it out a damn sight quicker.

And in some, apart from paying compensation in the 1990s, there have been criminal convictions.

Unlike the UK where documents were destroyed when the prospect of compensation was raised.

I put this in the Post office Horizon thread because the culture is the same, and elsewhere referred to Carrot Flower King's comments about the NHS, which he's also mentioned a few posts above this

And showing how widespread the culture of cover up in the public sector is,

Records destroyed about the contaminated blood scandal when the prospect of compensation was raised.

Johnny Mercer has let the Tory cat out of the bag.
In a leaked email to the times he claimed that No 10 blocked veteran IDs for voting because it could “open the floodgates” for students to use their ID.

Using kids as guinea pig?

I find that bit especially horrific and not just because I spent pretty much all my working life around children and adolescents, embroiled in issues concerning consent, what it means and who can legally (let alone morally) give it.

The attitudes behind this are beyond repugnant. Hannah Arendt's ideas about the banality of evil spring to mind, oddly.

The deputy PM is urging british citizens to stockpile 3 days worth of food and water to help build ‘national resilience’ amid fears of prolonged power cuts, cyber attacks and floods.

14 years and that's where we're at. No wonder government supporters don't show their faces round here any more

Looks like they got their own "project fear" in place.
