They sure have got a lot of value out of that £350 million a week leaving the EU has been saving us.

Grant Shapps: "We're going to build up to 28 ships... a sort of golden era of shipbuilding."

This sounds very much like the 40 new hospitals, that the Tories promised in 2019, that have never materialised.

In the meantime they are getting rid of 2 frigates and still considering scrapping the assault ships

But it's OK there's going to be 6 new assault ships sometime in the future maybe.

Have we got the oak trees to do this?

New DWP rules come in this week.
People claiming universal credit and working fewer than 18 minimum wage hours a week will be expected to look for more, or better paid work.

Before now, claimants had to work 15 hours.

Also the DWP are to get more powers to arrest and investigate claimants they suspect of incorrectly claiming. As part of this 2500 'external investigation agents' are being recruited.
It is hoped to save or recover up to £1.25 billion a year.

There's going to be a lot of people kicking themselves that it didn't occur to them to just go out and get a better paid job. Lucky we have well connected millionaires to tell us these things.

Who are they planning on assaulting? Brussels?

At least we can trust the Tories to spend what they say they will do on the NHS.....

NHS spending rise lags behind Tory funding pledges, IFS finds

....Spending on the NHS in England has risen less quickly than the Conservatives promised at the last election despite the extra demand created by the pandemic and record waiting lists, a leading thinktank has said.

The Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS) said increases in funding from the government had been eaten up by higher than expected inflation and, as a result, NHS day-to-day spending had grown by 2.7% a year during the current parliament – below the 3.3% pledged by Boris Johnson in 2019....

Andrew Bridgend, an actual MP said
"I believe we have now passed the tipping point on vaccine deaths and harms amongst the general public. Unfortunately the House of Commons wants to wait until after the General Election before admitting to them."

UK citizens, who are you voting for this year (presumably)? Me, I'm going for Green or Lib-Dem. I've not decided yet.
Nitpick: non UK citizen like myself can vote in the UK.
However I'm not resident in UK nor do I plan to be in the foreseeable future.

Bridgen surely?

I think it's time to finally pass the 'Being Bloody Stupid' Act.

This means that they’re going to pull a sunken rowing boat out of a pleasure lake, half-heartedly try to patch it up, and then abandon it in woodland.

Up to 28 ?

Zero falls within that range, and is IMO the likely number.

They can say they are going to build as many ships or hospitals as they want.
They know they are on the way out.

And of course they will need the statements to show that Labour will be worse - Tories would build eleventy one hospitals and a unicorn for everyone but Labour say they will only build 40 new hospitals and only give Unicorns to virgins! Vote for a better future!

Tesco boss's pay more than doubles to £10m.
