Cont: Luton Airport Car Park Fire III

I wondered if there was anything new on the sprinkler issue. It seems not.

As previously discussed I wonder why sprinklers were not fitted.

Obviously it's a cost in construction and maintenance but doesn't seem too arduous if the system is dry until activated. No exposed frozen pipes to burst. I wondered if the building design is required to contain the runoff from sprinklers to avoid pollution. That might be a significant extra cost but I don't know if it's required. Does anyone know?

I don't actually know whose liability the damage is. Do all those car owners have to claim on their own insurance? I suspect so but I don't know for sure. If the car park was liable, you can imagine their insurers would have demanded a fire suppression system was installed.

Note the avoidance of mentioning the elephant in the room? We have a diesel vehicle, lack of sprinklers and 'cars are a bit heavier these days'. Oh yeah, and EV's with 'different fire risks', by the way.

Reminds me of Basil Fawlty trying so hard not to mention the EV's war or Jaguar Land Rovers the Germans, our attention is irresistibly drawn towards these very things.

You missed out the bit that says the fire started in a diesel vehicle.

Also secondary source again when we have a primary source that says the fire started in a diesel vehicle and not an EV.

Which bit? The ongoing inability to link to anything supporting your claim diesels can be converted, or the post where you quote an article that directly refutes your claim Sunak was elected by conservative party members?

The post in which you claim I insisted the vehicle in question was a 'home conversion'.

I do not know of any fire... ever, in which the cause was a lack of sprinklers!

Come on, anyone would think we were talking about a car park built in the 1940's or even the 1960's or 1990's. No, Luton Airport car park was built post-Liverpool dockland fire of 2018, in 2019 when the existence of EV's and their special fire hazard risks and needs per sheer weight was well-established. The idea that 'Oh now we suddenly realise the need for sprinklers at an international airport, with the car park just a few minutes walk away from the airport itself,' as being even plausible is laughable.

The company tasked with constructing the car park went into administration and clearly failed to take on board the recommendations of the Merseyside Fire Brigade Report at any point, so why not say so?

What's with the walking around on eggshells?

Oh please. The fire was out of control within less than half an hour, with fire fighters overcome with fumes and having to leave the building. A diesel car fire is something a team of firefighters can put out within ten minutes.

There was a similar fire at Gatwick North Terminal. Eleven cars destroyed within minutes. News report: 'accidental ignition'. No mention it was a Tesla EV that was burnt to a shell.

Are you suggesting that the car park was built without sprinklers in order to cover up EV fires?

How do you know it was a Tesla if there was no mention of it?

Once again you need to be reminded that more than one car caught fire, and that the fire encountered flammable materials other than diesel.

Are you claiming that a fire that was controlled and extinguished started in an EV, and this is being hushed up?

The post in which you claim I insisted the vehicle in question was a 'home conversion'.

Ah ah ah, I never said that. Stop trying to put words in my mouth.

You did suggest it might have been, and I asked you to support that it was possible and you kept liking to irrelevant things.

I'll look it up now to find your post.

Here you go Vixen. The initial post where you suggested it could have been a conversion to hybrid.

ETA: My prediction is that you will either attempt to continue to claim I said you insisted it was, which I never did (quote me saying it if you think I did) OR you will just ignore the post because it proves you wrong and you can't handle that.

Surely you're not relying on what some random posted on the internet?

Much like analogies, random people on the internet are fine when they support Vixen. They're only no good when they contradict Vixen or highlight why she's wrong.

This entire post is a weird critique of stuff people aren't saying.

Is it your claim that all ICE car fires not extinguished within 10 minutes are actually EV fires?
I assume not as that would be idiotic. But in that case what is your point here, since both this fire and the Liverpool fire began in ICE cars?

I am simply saying there is a press embargo in giving people the facts.

The claim is an electrical fault in the engine bay, so publish the make and model of the car so that people with similar models can take it in for a check up.
