Cont: Luton Airport Car Park Fire part II

Vixen,

Do you have any evidence - not rumours, hearsay, or suppositions - but actual, verifiable evidence that the Luton Airport fire was caused by an EV?

Do you have any evidence - not rumours, hearsay, or suppositions - but actual, verifiable evidence that the Luton Airport fire was caused by an EV and that that fact is being covered up?

If so, please present it. I'm not asking for anecdotes, diatribes, 'common sense', a lecture on how obsequiously subservient the English are, or any other form of editorialising. I want evidence. Evidence in support of your claims.

Do you have any? If you do, then present it.

The fire officers started fighting the fire by about 21:15 IIRC on 10 October 2023.

Please explain why you think this is a lie.

They were still fighting it on the 11th when the fire service put tout their statement.
That's the same day as the fire.

Please advise which bit you disagree woth and why you think it is a lie, worthy of a torrent of abuse form another poster.

Do you see yourself as coming to their aid?

Er, the Fire Brigade Report has not yet been published. The only information so far is the press release 11 Oct 2023 plus a news item about a guy being bailed in connection with it.

So please state your objections to people discussing this topic.

There are plenty of people who are of the opinion it was a lithium battery fire based on its appearance, intensity and rapid spread.

Do you have any objections to people having an opinion in this matter?

A press release I sent a couple of weeks ago ended up in print almost verbatim; it wouldn't have been so bad except for the fact a journalist stuck their byline on it!

Hah!

Rural papers used to do that with my press releases all the time, and I used to count that as a win, (because it meant that they hadn't added any nonsense to the press release).

Whenever possible, I'd supply photographs, and I'd often format the press release like an interview with my MP.

I'd probably reached the height of manipulation, when I posed him in the parliamentary library, holding/showing a rural newspaper's front page. Funnily enough, that picture made the front page of that newspaper.

:D

It's one of my better pictures...

Which was amended on the 11th of October 2023 to say that the fire was started by a Diesel vehicle.

Remember?

Remember?

You of the infallible memory?

Remember, we've all linked to the page many, many times.

So yes, you continue to LIE about what the fire service said.

Remember?

You made up more ******** about the person that amended the press release as being not a valid source.

You also made up ******** about a press release not being a press release if it is on a website.

Remember?

OK, so that'd be a 'no' then. You have no evidence for your claims.

Thank you for clarifying that your theories regarding the cause of the fire, and about a conspiracy to conceal that cause, are entirely baseless.

I realise now that I should have included trying to shame anyone questioning your fantasies in my list of things I wasn't asking for, but that's my bad. Live and learn, I guess.

So no apology for the false accusation? What Mr. Hodgkinson said was 'it is believed to be a diesel-fueled vehicle at this stage'.

The investigation hasn't completed yet. Your claim I was lying was totally unwarranted and gratuitous, and you haven't the grace to admit that the press release was as I said it was.

If you disagree with any of my opinions please state your reasons instead of hurling abuse.

...What Mr. Hodgkinson said was 'it is believed to be a diesel-fueled vehicle at this stage'...

Once again you're 'confusing' Hodgkinson's initial statement to to the press with the later press release, published by the Bedfordshire Fire & Rescue Service.

We've been over this before. The press release states that:

Bedfordshire Fire & Rescue Service said:
...The fire service can confirm the initial vehicle involved in the fire was a diesel car...

This came after, and therefore supercedes, Hodgkinson's statement of what was believed "at [that] stage" as the fire service's official position on the matter.

But then you are well aware of that, aren't you?

I don't know why people get so upset about someone expressing a view.
FYI: Your opinions don't upset me. They make me laugh.

If you disagree with any of my opinions please state your reasons instead of hurling abuse.
In this thread, along with its predecessor, a great many people have disagreed with your opinions, and almost all of them have stated their reasons for disagreeing.

I guess you just forgot all that.

There has been an update since, you can read it on the fire service website. It's been there for months.

There's n announcement on the fire service website that says it wasn't an EV.
You know this and ignore it.

When something comes under police investigation there is an embargo on the press. This is so as not to prejudice any proceedings that might arise from their investigations.

Do you have any evidence that information that is embargoed "was in the hands of the police and the Fire Brigade at an early stage"? What is this "information"? When did they get it? Specific evidence, please.

Scroll down the first page until you come to the section on who is authorized to speak to the press and when and on what occasion.

The first page is the table of contents. There doesn't appear to be a section with a heading indicating that it specifically concerns "who is authorized to speak to the press". Looking at the actual document, it does say that:
Officers and staff of all ranks and roles are encouraged to provide factual information to the media concerning operational incidents or investigations.

The statement that you were supposed to be supporting was that "employees are not allowed to speak to the press"; this doesn't seem to do it.

Can you quote the passage that forbids employees to speak to the press, please?

And it was supposed to be relevant to the firefighters concerned. Are you claiming that the firefighter was in fact a member of the Metropolitan Police working undercover?

You're lying again. Naughty naughty.

Citation, please.
You've seen the fire service statement. This is just a sad evasion on your part.

As for your cousin, captain of a firehouse in northwest Illinois, is he aware that it is not just about pumping loads of water but that water would be contaminated by highly toxic chemicals?

The other 'nightmare' is the toxic fumes. Breathing in the fumes of a burning lithium-ion fire can damage your lungs within minutes. Why else did the fire brigade stand well away from the building at Luton?

But then you knew all that.

Yes, I'm quite sure that my cousin, who was a firefighter his entire career, knows far more about firefighting that you will ever know. I'm also quite sure that this won't stop you from pretending to be an expert on this, or any other subject you decide to lecture people about after watching a few YouTube videos and reading some comments by conspiracy theorists equally committed to presenting themselves as erudite investigators.

Toxic fumes are not unique to EVs. Firefighters didn't introduce masks and air tanks in response to EV fires. The fumes from burning diesel, gasoline, plastics, tires, insulation etcetera are no less "nightmarish" than those from an EV fire.
