IIRC it was an online local newspaper and it was an opinion from an unnamed firefighter from Harpenden Brigade. As you know, employees are not allowed to speak to the press.

Diesel fires produce water contaminated by highly toxic chemicals. There's even residue after a fire on a modern IC engine that contains flourine.

Breathing the fumes of a diesel fire can damage your lungs within minutes as can any kind of burning hydrocarbon such as foam and synthetic fabric.

That's just a lie put about by big electric, everyone knows that the smoke from burning ICE cars is full of vitamins and puppies.

If you go to near the beginning of the investigation, it is explained that when there is an incident of this type, the Fire Brigade responsible for the region, writes up a report after an investigation in collaboration with the police. When something comes under police investigation there is an embargo on the press. This is so as not to prejudice any proceedings that might arise from their investigations.
