Split Thread Musk, SpaceX and future of Tesla

They aren't passivating the stainless steel even. I have a feeling that a lot of owners are going to end up hurting themselves, and causing environmental issues, by trying home passivation. Nitric acid burns for everyone!

I keep waiting to learn that there's redeeming qualities to the Cybertruck, but I'm done. It looked like nonsense when it was first publicized, and it looks and sounds like triple super turbo custom nonsense now. Which is weird.

The rest of the Tesla product line has its pros and cons. Other than their jackass CEO, Starlink seems to be a fine product. SpaceX continues to deliver. Twitter is getting exactly what it deserves, in my opinion.

But that Cybertruck, man. It looks stupid. It looks like a six year old's idea of a De Lorean. And by all accounts it really is a six year old's idea of a De Lorean. From materials to manufacturing quality to performance to features... It's almost like Musk made a deal with the devil or something. For every game-changing rocket, he must beclown himself with an automotive duncecap. The Cybertruck couldn't be worse if Danny DeVito hired Homer Simpson to design it.

Elon Tweeted

SpaceX has moved its state of incorporation from Delaware to Texas!

If your company is still incorporated in Delaware, I recommend moving to another state as soon as possible.

looks like the Cybertruck rusts within days.
And the haters keep piling it on. Deplorable.

It's kind of sad actually. All these so-called 'progressives' showing their true colors. I'll never be a conservative, but after seeing treatment like this I can understand why people like Musk gravitate in that direction.

And from someone on a 'skeptic' website where 'rational' people pretend to be caring individuals who only want the best for everyone. But we know the truth. The real reason they are here is to gloat about their intellectual superiority and bully those unfortunate enough to be caught in their crosshairs with their great 'wit' and 'insight'.

Try engaging with the argument instead of insulting the people with whom you disagree.

Then have a look at this tweet

and tell me that Musk is not a complete man child.

well, how pathetic. there's two threads on this board alone where people go into detail about their various problems with musk and his companies, and you're trotting this post out.

i'm not a conservative either, but i'm also not a progressive. but i can at least speak for them to a certain extent on this: massively over valued, he's using every tax avoidance scheme in the book in his personal and professional life to avoid paying his fair share, he's anti-union and anti-labor and a part time ceo that collects way more than the labor he puts into his companies. he's against mass public transportation and actively tanks it to put out his own product that doesn't work. he's "free speech" but sues people who look at him wrong. he puts out a cheap and shoddy product. and that's not even going into his various and many personal failings. do we even want to talk about how sad and pathetic is to buy tesla and sue to have yourself retroactively called a founder and then bad mouth the actual founder you squeezed out?

you seem to have forgotten what this website was really founded for: stopping liars from getting rich by tricking people. and i'm certainly not going to gloat about how fooled i am by this one.

Well, you certainly SOUND like a conservative at least. You're halfway there!

Musk's behavior has caused several issues, a good number of them illegal, and has caused people to fear for their personal safety. I don't understand how you've messiah'd Musk to this level. Somehow you think he, and every action he takes, is changing the world for good. Constantly. You don't even have a doubt in your mind.

SpaceX does good things, Starlink is probably my favorite of his businesses, Tesla means nothing to me cause their cars are garbage in North Dakota (along with all current EVs), but those companies achieve in spite of Musk, not because of him. In fact, the one company he runs completely and entirely by himself without any oversight has decreased in value by like 60%+.

Can you please, for the sake of conversation, list all of the things about Musk's accomplishments that have caused you to worship him with such unending loyalty? It's not just standard fanboyism, I mean you LOVE this guy. What did it?

Just as a little side note, Musk is now lobbying the US against aid for Ukraine since, in his words, "There is no way in hell that Putin is going to lose". It's also rumored that Russian forces are now using Starlink as well as Starlink services being throttled for Ukraine.

I can't imagine what holding these positions will reflect on his various companies.

Musk doesn't pay for rent or utilities for Twitter, because just like Trump people who can't afford expensive lawyers deserve to be ****** over twice.

But somehow I'm the bad guy for not worshipping him.

Coupled with this new Russian nuclear space threat it could lead to SpaceX and Starlink being nationalized.

i don't care enough for Musk to hate him - I actually pity him.

i just don't get that people can see trump as a conman, but not musk, even though the similarities are obvious.

So are the differences. Tesla is not a con. SpaceX is not a con. Starlink is not a con. His controversial compensation package is not a con. His whatever it is he's doing with Twitter is not a con.

As for the special plea of the week: Twitter isn't paying rent?

Yeah, there's a lot of that going around.

Your links are all articles from 2020... there was a reason many retailers struggled to pay rent at the time. I have no idea if Twitter has now paid their rent, or what. If the REIT or corporation that owns the property has still not evicted them, that is now on them.

Fair point. I do understand what was special about 2020.

haha and yet somehow special plea of the week isn't citing articles about retailers struggling during covid

you guys need to stop trying to call everyone else out
