Cont: Musk buys Twitter II

Depends what drug.

Pretty much all recreational drugs (including alcohol obviously) seem to have long term effects on and impairments of the brain.

In Musk's case, I'd assume cocaine and marijuana.

He seems to exibit bipolar like symptoms except of the drug-induced kind.

i.e. Hyper and jittery, or really laid back and sleepy.

Toking on a joint during a youtube interview suggests that he has lost his perspective on the normalcy of drug taking.

I don't think he's a heavy user of marijuana, because all the heavy users I've known, eventually succumbed to bouts of paranoid schizophrenia.

If that's happening to Musk, I haven't seen evidence of it.

If he suddenly starts wailing about the (((lizard people))) ruining and running the world, I'll change my opinion on that one.

His recent behaviour, especially the Twitter purchase saga, seems to be an indication that something is going wrong.

i'd guess it's adderall and xanax. that's what all the guys he hangs around with are into

I've been a heavy smoker for about 20 years or so, when do I get my bout of paranoid schizophrenia. I've honestly never heard that this is a thing from marijuana use. It wasn't even mentioned to me when the doctor prescribed it to me to help manage depression and social anxiety. I feel like maybe a doctor should have said that. Strange

Well I guess it's not impossible that he does drugs but I've not seen any conclusive evidence of it other than that one joint he smoked on the Joe Rogan show.

Some people are just ********* and I think that is the issue with Elon Musk. I think, even the "our customers can **** off" interview can be explained by him being an ******** under enormous stress.

Elon Musk doesn't strike me as a druggie. I suppose it's not impossible, but his behavior here in Austin, sleeping on the factory floor, working around the clock during the startup doesn't seem like that of a drug addict.

Huh? A doctor recommended heavy smoking of marijuana to you 20 years ago?

What kind of doctor was this? :boggled:

This seems one of those "classy if you're rich and trashy if you're poor" examples.

Sleeping rough, taking drugs, expletive-filled outbursts, doomscrolling and arguing on Twitter, string of kids out of wedlock...

He's playing in what's known as "the fringe class" on Urban Dictionary.

That very much depends on your choice of drugs (and ability to pay for such).

Agreed.

I had to do some very odd hours for system releases and it messed me up something shocking. I didn't feel 'normal' again for weeks.

Yep. Back in the early 2000's every 4th weekend I'd have to cover the release window for the mainframe equivalent of a cloud (couple of linked sysplexes) and sometimes with scheduling issues I'd also be on 24x7 on call. Eventually our senior management persuaded HR to allow a TOIL day to recover. HR never took us up on our offer to sit through the release window with us.
