Yeah, since the ice sheets (non-moving glaciers) are melted back to expose where the Vikings dropped their cool stuff, that means something. The ice sheet must have been at the same level it is now. So yeah, we're looking 1500 years into the past where the items were found. To me, that means the ice sheet increased in size at some point for some reason and now it's back to where it was 1500 years ago. Perhaps we're currently reversing "Global Cooling" which was a thing in the 1970's.

If you've already forgotten that you were the one that explained to me the artifacts were not found in a glacier but instead an ice sheet, I don't know what to tell ya. The difference seemed rather important to you at the time.
 
It is important. Stuff in ice will melt downwards as it's darker than the ice, so it will end up deeper and deeper----and now we're hitting bottom, lower than when people traveled through there so many years before.

I saw one person claim it was written by Paula White. Which would explain the insanity.

He is a Xian Fundy but he pointed out that it is blasphemy. The words used in parts are lifted from the biblical description of Jesus.

This is the point I was trying to make earlier. Biden does not need to blast "Trump will destroy democracy" all year. You just need the TV ads with the deep voice announcer like that. Even if people disagree, they are drawn in to that deep voice to listen to the end of the thing.

Biden himself needs the staff to crank out messages that you are better off now than you were in 2020. It will take some work, as such a bif part of the country was receiving pandemic money till then.

:rolleyes: The US has a substantial amount of oil resources and the infrastructure to extract and refine them - enough to meet pretty much our whole country's needs for the foreseeable future, even if we *didn't* invest in alternative renewable sources.

But... all those oil companies are totally liars who manipulate everything. And you know, OPEC is totally on the up-and-up.

US has bad policy surrounding oil, and that policy has resulted in substantial increases in costs for US citizens. Our government is failing in their duty.

How so? We have the lowest energy costs in the developed world... easily so in fact. In inflation adjusted dollars a gallon of gasoline costs less now than at any point in history going back to at least 1975.

(and that article is several months old, US average is now $2.91 , and it would be much lower if not for some State's policies, not federal policy).

If your going to bring up the no new drilling on federal leases... thats had little to no effect. Theres plenty of non-federal land to drill on, and the industry is struggling to even find enough workers.

The reason he made the speech was because he's unsuccessfully tried selling Bidenomics for the last 6 months to no effect.

About the only reason I can think of for voting Trump is to say FU to the system.

Trump won in 2016 mainly because Hillary Clinton was seen as part of the system that many are fed up with. It didn't matter that Trump was a nut case as long as he could shake things up.

The Democrats haven't improved their selection process. It's hard to believe that the best they can put up is a candidate who is so old that there are genuine concerns about whether he could outlive another Presidency. Meanwhile, the system is busy trying to take away the voters' choice for Republican candidate.

It appears that the stage is being set up for another FU vote.

To cut benefits to the poor.

To slash the size of the Federal govt.

To let Russia take over Ukraine.

To kill NATO.

To have a war with Iran and China.

To allow Israel to commit ethnic cleansing and steal more Palestinian land.

To kill lots of environmental and other regulations.

To get more right-wingers on the Supreme Court.

To have the Justice Department persecute anyone who does not believe that the 2020 election was stolen.

To take more rights away from women, Gays and trans folk.

To build the wall on the Mexican border.

To make immigration much harder and have it focus on white people who speak English and are Christians or Jews.

To deport much more Hispanics and other illegals.

To cut deport all asylum seekers.

To cut Federal funding to all states/cities that refuse to cooperate with immigration officials.

My roommate is down with most of those reasons, except he sees Trump is a moron and hasn't voted for him. He says those are all goals you can get by just voting for a Republican candidate other than Trump.
I'm afraid he's right.
