Why I should vote for Trump?

Was at a family gathering yesterday with some relatives I haven't seen since the pandemic. The general rule is no political discussions but as we have seen, Trumpers can't help themselves, especially in groups, but yesterday was different. There were several under the breath statements like "Never again" and "He who shall not be named should be in jail."

These were from 2016 Trump supporters who sat out 2020, and since then have decided to vote against him next year. I was rather stunned at their turnaround, especially from the police captain. Also too, one of my cousins had removed his maga hat from the back deck of his Crown Vic, and when I asked where it was he said he tossed it, and changed the subject.

I hope there are a lot more of these folks, and The Prestige out there, for democracy's sake.

It’s the same thing over and over again from Trump supporters. They cite no facts or data. They just regurgitate Trump’s own campaign propaganda like the pathetic marks that they are.

I think there are only two types of Trump voters left: Cynics who hate the same people that Trump hates and are privileged enough to not be affected when he screws things up through his incompetency, and credulous, low-information Fox/Newsmax/One America viewers. My crazy catholic SiL is like the former; yesterday she balked at the idea of privilege in the home theater room of her new home in a gated community. A cousin is like the latter, having never consumed media that depicted the Jan 6 insurrection and claims it was overblown by left anyway and the rioters were wrongly convicted and will be pardoned and . . . despite having never seen actual footage of the rioting.

The belief is strong."You Must Unlearn What You Have Learned." (Yoda)

Everything you believe is wrong. And none of the "good stuff" you list can be claimed by Trump.

Trump achievements: Killed over 500 000 Americans in pandemic due to "small government."

Chris also believes in Bigfoot. There's just no point debating.

I've encountered another category:
"We're holding our noses and voting for Trump because he's God's instrument to destroy the deep secular state, so that we can make America Christian again. Abortions will end. Gays and trans will be outlawed as the Bible says.
Trump is making the way for a Godly leader who will make Righteousness cover the Earth."

And of course these categories are mixed, and a given Trump voter will run from one to another if confronted about the contradictions of their stance.

Absolutely Biden is responsible for Putin invading Ukraine. The World sees Biden as a weak leader, a frazzled old man that should be spending his remaining days of senility somewhere besides the Oval Office. That and he's on the Chinese payroll.

Given Obama's cold shoulder treatment of Israel, it's highly likely Hamas was betting on Biden doing likewise.

What would Trump have done if Putin invaded Ukraine? That's an easy one, Putin wouldn't have invaded Ukraine if Trump had been in office. But just for fun, let's let you have your way, say Trump was still President and Putin invaded Ukraine. Within 24 hours Trump would have been on the phone with Putin with a deal whereby ending the hostilities would create great wealth for both sides. That's what he does. Making money is more important and more profitable than making war. Which reminds me, unless I'm mistaken you were one of the many here that claimed Trump would start World War 3? But he didn't. Warmonger is currently a word reserved for Biden and his supporters, not Trump. Some of you guys are shouting "Free Palestine!" While others are supporting Israel's bombardment. You guys need to get it together to support ending all wars and hostilities and concentrate on making money. Spend some of it on solar for your home.

It's the Leftists that enjoy the never ending wars. Must be something about reducing the population of excess humans to reduce the effects of Global Warming I suppose. That or purposely creating fear and chaos in the World. Beats me.

Interesting photo, however I didn't do any shopping in Hong Kong where that picture was taken:
https://www.scmp.com/comment/opinio...break-plague-fear-and-prejudice-could-be-just

"Empty instant noodle shelves at a supermarket in Hong Kong on January 30. Photo: Reuters"

I did see an empty toilet tissue Aisle for a few days at the Dollar General Store here in the US though. Since I typically keep at minimum a 6 months supply of food and toiletries, I wasn't personally affected.

I don't care for Kool Aid, I prefer iced tea or a citrus soda drink called "Ski".

I think I would prefer a bit more Global Warming. It still gets brutally cold in Kentucky and I'd prefer milder Winters, and while I'm always hopeful the fact is I'm still not getting a mild Winter. But let's say you're right and Global Warming is a deep concern that's going to kill us all and flood the Coastlines. How would you go about reversing the damage? If we made it, then surely we can unmake it. So how about it? What can I do or mankind in general, actually "do" to reverse Global Warming? Let's fix the planet! I'm on board, just tell me how we begin.

On a related note I recently read an article about some new archaeological finds of Viking era artifacts revealed from melting Glaciers in Norway. That means the Glaciers are now back to the same place they were around 1,500 years ago where the Vikings left their stuff. It was an interesting read, very thought provoking.

Colorado and Maine certainly seem to think so.

As for the remaining parts of your response, you started to let your TDS get a grip on your ability to have a civil conversation so this is as far as we go at this time. I'd be happy to respond further if you could find a way to control your adjectives to simply reduce the derogatory descriptors.

Ok...how about this photo of empty shelves taken at a Saugus, Massachusetts grocery store on March 13, 2020?

Oh, I held back on the derogatory descriptors. There aren't enough to convey my feelings for Trump or the idea that he will ever again be in the WH.

It's not anti-Trump people who suffer from TDS; that belongs to those who support a psychopath who is a pathological liar, who has divided this country with constant lies about a 'rigged' and 'stolen' election and who incited a insurrection because his frail little ego couldn't accept he lost.

Oh, yeah. The Heritage Foundation Project 2025.

Replace all the air traffic controllers with Trump appointees,
or the bankers at America's Clearing House, or Food and Drug
safety inspectors, or the border guards deciding who gets in
or out of the country, or the guys who watch for nuclear missile
launches from China. This could get interesting... very interesting.

Gad Saad explains in this clip, that if one considers indoctrinating the civil service with critical race theory is the greatest sin, one might vote for the charmless Donald Trump. This is an extremely important point. Biden is a godawful man by the company he keeps and the officials he uses to wreck his country.

Quilette? Why? Random guy talks Lebanon and "progressive politics." Sounds like a modern Ayn Rand.

But I'll just take the summary from a a book review.
Saad doesn't go into much depth at all for any of his points and doesn't provide any hard evidence for anything. Very disappointed after reading this book. I feel like I did not learn anything new. This is the first book I have ever returned.

I am by no means liberal but this book basically just rips the political left without even mentioning the shortcomings of the right; ironically which is anti-science and anti-fact, two values that Saad claims to hold very dear.

And....most of us do not live in the academic world he lives in. I found no problem with it in a physical science. We did science. I probably would not be happy in college in a "soft" science like this.

I despise Trump, but blaming him for empty store shelves in 2020 has even less logic than those "I did that!" Biden stickers on gas pumps last year. Democrats would love higher prices for gas, although of course they would prefer if the higher prices came about through tax increases. Empty store shelves in 2020 came because of warnings about the Covid-19 epidemic and generally represented what the government was recommending at the time--to stock up now and not go out for a few weeks "to bend the curve."

I think the point remains. If there is one big bad thing to be got rid of, and the choice is binary between a smooth talking spin merchant and his terrible idea, and a charmless thug who can do very limited damage to the free world, why not vote for the charmless thug?
I am not saying critical race theory is a hill to die on by the way, but the point Saad makes is rather compelling to a simpleton like me.

Jaysus! Gad Saad is as “compelling” as Dave Rubin is “witty and intelligent”. In both cases they are in minus numbers. In fact, if there was an absolute zero of charm and insight, Gad Saad and Dave Rubin would be beneath that. Yes, that means they are both impossibly hideous and stupid.

By the way here is the same creep insisting that he is not obsessed with Sam Harris:

They were also the result of government inaction and not preparing properly.

I will not be voting for Trump because of what he DID do as President:

-watered down our vehicle emissions rules.

-watered down our environmental regs.

-ended the Iran nuclear deal, putting us on the path to war.

-put grave doubt in the unity of NATO.

-emboldened Putin.

-gave corporations waaaay too much of a tax cut and paid for it by raising taxes on the middle class.

-put less than steller judges on the Supreme Court.

-gave Israel the sense that they can **** over the Palestinians and we will allow it.

-wasted a lot of time on tons of bad laws that never got passed.

-failed to pass infrastructure bill.

-failed to pass DACA for the Wall.

-banned transgender people from the military.

-fueled bigots, Nazis, and other hateful ass holes.

-contributed to the division and partisanship in this country.

-tried to steal an election.

Haha… love the idea of Trump “making a deal” that would have stopped the Russian invasion of Ukraine. What “deal” would that have been exactly? Like the deal that would have had Mexico pay for the wall? Like the healthcare plan to replace Obamacare? Like the infrastructure plan?

Too funny watching Trump supporters talk about Trump “making deals” like it’s still 2015 and we haven’t already seen proof positive of his lies and grift.

That fan fiction was both hilarious and disturbing. What "deal" could the Orange Weakling have offered? Putin was desperately clinging to power in a quickly collapsing situation before the invasion. There's nothing anyone outside of Russia could give him. Other than Ukraine just rolling over for his invasion.

Keep in mind, there were 2 government shut downs in 2018, when Republicans had the House and the Senate. The Orange Weakling couldn't even get a deal through his own party to keep basic services running.
