I hadn't considered that until Darat's post in response to mine. It seems to me to be an own goal on two levels. Firstly, he's admitting that ads are being posted next to Nazi posts and second he's admitting that nobody sees them. Either one by itself would be enough cause for an advertiser to withdraw their custom.

I'm not sure what the "tinker" prefix is meant to signify.

Anyway, you are right. He has to keep projecting his personality because he is the main reason people give him the cash to keep his companies afloat.

Has he clarified this? Has he explained why he said this?

Besides, what he is threatening to take Media Matters to court over is the fact that advertisers have their ads next to anti-Semitic content. He doesn’t even deny that that stuff is there or it is posted alongside ads by companies who don’t want to be part of it. You and Elon Musk seem to be mixing up two stories about anti-semitism.

I actually... don't think Elon is an anti-Semite. He's an "edgelord", and he gives a platform, and credibility to Nazi's among other groups I find abhorrent. So I do my best not to add any money to his business.

Netanyahu said he hoped Musk would find it “within the confines of the First Amendment to limit antisemitism and hate,” acknowledging that it’s “not an easy task.”

Musk said that “on any given day, there are 100 million to 200 million posts to the system,” and said while it was hard to “police that in advance,” he could take steps to “deamplify. We’re not going to promote hate speech because probably that’s not what people are going to want hear,” he said.

Earlier this month Musk said he was “pro free speech” but against “anti-Semitism of any kind.”

It's not weird, it's just a tautological declaration. He thinks that believing (he would say "realizing") that "the Jews" control US media and education and are intentionally "flooding the country" with non-whites in order to eliminate white people shouldn't be considered anti-Semitic because according to him it's just a simple fact.

The first problem is that they filed in Texas which is not where X is registered or does most of its business and also not where Media Matters is registered or does most of its business.

Not only that but it violates Twitter's own terms and conditions which state laws suits should be filed in California.
