Cont: Transwomen are not women - part 13

The only people that benefit from keeping children totally oblivious to the existence of sex and related topics are the pedophiles who hope to exploit children and their naivety.

Keeping kids in the dark about sexual topics is a pro-child abuse position.

 Sure, sure. Because it's impossible for schools to have reasonable sex education without providing instruction manuals for anal sex, choking, and having kids share their erotic stories in front of the whole class. Yep. Totally checks out.

The transphobia to right wing conspiracy theorist pipeline, sad to see it.

TERF brain rot, many such cases.

Pretty incredible that JK Rowling's name alone has become so widely and instantly associated with transphobia. What an incredible feat of reputational suicide from someone who otherwise would have had a solid-gold legacy as a beloved children's lit writer.

Not at all incredible that a group of social justice inquisitors on the internet deemed JKR to be a despicable heretic and then have propagated a narrative of JKR being a raging transphobe.

I challenge you - again - to provide actual documentation of things JKR has said or written that are genuinely transphobic. Not things that are pro-female and look to protect females, but actually, legitimately in opposition to transgender people.

I predict that you will not respond with anything that supports your invective - again.

I don't know what your citing in the first bit, but Canada has decided that discrimination against trans people is against their human rights code, so it's no more legal to disparage trans people than it is to disparage people for their race, sex, ethnicity, etc. Am I supposed to be shocked by the implications of that?

Sucks to suck, take the L. It's only one country, you'll always have TERF island.

Lol. ITT TG opines that active discrimination against females is somehow NOT a human rights violation. I'm starting to wonder if TG thinks females are somehow not human.

wow, she must have the worst press agent in history then. Never has someone been so misunderstood

Not one that you would accept, I'm sure, so let's skip this tedious song and dance.

If Rowling is not a transphobe she has some of the all time worst PR on the planet, because boy do a lot of people think she's a transphobe. I don't think she's this inarticulate though, so seems unlikely that there has been big misunderstanding.

 So what? You seem to label a whole lot of people here as transphobes, when none of us actually are. It's an empty slur tossed around to poison the well and avoid actually having to engage with the substance of the conversation.

It's also quite transparent to anyone except the poo-flingers.

You tell me bud, you're the one complaining that the tyrannical Canadian state is slapping around transphobes. Surely any article about these situations provides some explanation for why that is happening.

:boggled:

Well, thank you for proving to us all that you literally have no idea what the **** you're talking about. All you're doing is throwing around insults and invective so you can get your hate-on for the day.

For anyone who says "there are ONLY two genders" (this is about that newsclip about that stupid kid with the t-shirt that says that very thing, like it's a FREAKIN' FACT!!!), I have to say this:

YOU'RE WRONG

There are in fact, THREE genders in nature: male, female, and asexual.

What does this have to do with any of the discussions here?

Probably nothing but after seeing that newsclip for the millionth time (I'm obviously lying), I had to scream it somewhere.

Sorry.

Not in the nature of mammals or birds, but hey, who cares about the appropriateness of the class?

So, in other words, you'd consider a woman who could impregnate herself (without any type of help from a man, including artificial insemination) as an example of only one gender and not as a separate one? Gotcha.

I guess that means you agree with the kid, but then if it's not a third sex than which of the two sexes (Male or Female) is someone who's...
Is it really too much to ask that we stick to the class mammalia? I mean, seriously - if you have to delve into earthworms to make your point, are you really making headway?

FFS, might as well just argue that because millipedes exist, somehow that means that humans aren't a bipedal species.

There are examples of this happening with humans.
-
There are ZERO examples of this happening with humans. Humans, as well as ALL mammals and ALL birds, are gonochoric. No human has ever impregnated themselves.

I'm sorry, but I'm not inclined to accept answers from Quora's newest competitor for nonsense.

It's especially fun if you keep reading down your own link. Then it becomes obvious that this is some cobbled-together nonsense, that isn't even sticking to the same contextual meanings of the words on one page.

What are the 4 genders?
The four genders are masculine, feminine, neuter and common. There are four different types of genders that apply to living and nonliving objects. Masculine gender: It is used to denote a male subtype.

What is the pronoun for a hermaphrodite?
Chakats, Eponids and Faleshkarti, being simultaneous hermaphrodites typically use the pronouns shi, hir, hirs. Chakats also use the honorific “Shir” as a title equivalent to the human “Mister”, “Miss”, etc. Skunktaurs use their own set of pronouns since they are sequential hermaphrodites.

What is hermaphrodite in biology?
A hermaphrodite is an individual that produces functional male gametes and female gametes (sex cells) during its lifetime. This capacity to reproduce both as male and female has many biological ramifications.

What is the meaning and pronunciation of hermaphrodite?
/hərˈmæfrəˌdaɪt/ a person, an animal, or a flower that has both male and female sexual organs or characteristics.

Does a hermaphrodite have ovaries?
Newborn Ambiguous Genitalia Management

The true hermaphrodite has both testicular and ovarian tissues present in either the same or opposite gonads. Both the external genitalia and the internal duct structures display gradations between male and female. … Two-thirds of true hermaphrodites are raised as males.

What is hermaphrodite give example?
Complete answer:

A hermaphrodite is an organism that has complete or partial reproductive organs and produces gametes normally associated with both male and female sexes. … For example, a large number of tunicates, pulmonate snails, opisthobranch snails, earthworms, and slugs are hermaphrodites.

It's tossing in neopronouns for fantasy-based gender categories of ******* furries, along with an actual biological definition of hermaphroditism (which doesn't apply to the medical condition that used to be called true hermaphroditism, and which is no longer called that because, well, it *isn't*), as well as straight up misinformation.

People with ovotesticular disorder are most commonly of an XX karyotype, and are believed to have experienced a hormonal disruption during the stage where the fetus undergoes sex differentiation. A majority of people with this DSD have one relatively normal ovary and one ovotestis, which contains undifferentiated tissue. Ovotestes are unable to produce gametes of any sort. A large minority with this condition have two ovotestes, and are thus infertile. A smaller minority have a testis and an ovotestis, and the smallest grouping have one ovary and one testis. For that last group, which is extremely rare, only one gonad functions.

There is one documented case of a single individual who, on a postmortem exam, demonstrated characteristics of their ovary that were considered to be plausibly consistent with having released at least one ova. That person, however, was male, with phenotypical male genitalia and reproductive anatomy, and they had fathered a child.

Erm, as a starter for 10, how about her initial infamous tweet, in which she mocked the use of the term "people who menstruate" and wrote something addressing this akin to "I'm sure there's a term for such people: wimbum, wimmin (etc)".
Oh yes, I can totally see how objecting to a term that disenfranchises female humans and reduces us to nothing more than bodily functions and robs us of our essential humanity is "anti-trans".

Seriously, LJ - why is it that in order to be considered "not anti-trans" one must be entirely anti-female?

And this is actually a nakedly anti-trans piece of grandstanding: Rowling is, in effect, wilfully disregarding the fact that some trans men (who are men, unless you're anti-trans) menstruate - which is the exact reason why it's appropriate* to use the term "people who menstruate" (and inappropriate & non-inclusive to use the term "women" in this context).

Rowling has made plenty more anti-trans statements since this one - it just so happens that this was the one which launched her into the ranks of the anti-trans bigots.

* Oh and before the wearily predictable accusations of misogyny and so on.... the very same principle applies to something like "people with prostates": most trans women (who are women unless you're anti-trans) have prostates, so it would be similarly inappropriate and non-inclusive to say "men" in this context.

You're begging the question. You're assuming that transgender identified males are "women" and transgender identified females are "men", and you're further assuming that everyone on the ******* planet accepts that article of blind faith.

Utter ********. JK was the victim of a TRA lynch mob, desperately looking for a celebrity to string up. The lynch mob also piled in over her detective book where the culprit was not trans at all, merely a cross dressing murderer.

But no surprise you adopt a typical and lazy TRA position.

It's worse than that - the culprit wasn't even a habitual cross dresser. It was literally a costume put on for the express purpose of getting close to the victim.

Seems like a bad strategy to communicate to potential employers that you're untrustworthy.

The tech industry proving it still has an unresolved problem with piggish men is not particularly surprising.

Okay, this is some very tiny progress!

Now, take that just one step further. How do we determine which of these males is an untrustworthy pretender, and which of them are genuinely non-binary? How can anyone tell the difference?

Do you have any evidence that males claiming to be nonbinary are a particular risk for committing sexual harassment? I would be absolutely fascinated by such data.

I second this request - it would be an incredibly useful bit of information to have. I look forward to TG providing this highly desirably information.

We will never get a response on this. TG is going to pretend he never made the claim.

You have yet to engage with my point that trans people cannot use these sex segregated spaces without drawing huge amounts of attention to themselves simply by existing while trans.

A bearded trans man using the women's restroom and getting the cops routinely called on them is not a "solved problem", it's you simply refusing to engage with the problem.

Like I said, I'm willing to concede public restrooms, if we can get to some sort of agreement on sports, prisons, and equitable representation.

Why don't you give me your answer for those, and then we can circle back to the problem of public restrooms.
